Just reconverted my vokator vst with the new beta of fxpansions adapter. Now vokator works in logic. You can add vokator fx in an instruments slot, sidechain it to a bus, route two audios to the bus. It works for me. The au cannot yet do this.

How astonishing is it that Angus was able to write a wrapper that even overcame NI's VST GUI bugs and get Vokator to work properly FASTER than NI?

Angus is one guy and he writes all of Fxpansions's code himself. Puts the whole "NI is committed to AU" thing in perspective.

What is even more astonishing is that angus doesn't even have absynth 2 to test the adapter with.

    Hello all,

let me please say that the use of the AU plug-in with Logic should happen in that way as it is described in the Readme that cames with the AU update. Using it this way you can have external audio input into Vokator (using side chain) *and* the possibility to route midi to this vokator (what you would not have with Logic when Vokator was inserted as an FX). The sad thing is (what we have found out in the meantime) that side chain is not correctly working with Logic at this moment (see below).

Please notice: when Vokator AU was implemented the current Logic version did not support sidechain input at all. The recent update of Logic 6.2 seems to work only on the left channel of the side chain input. We tested this and did not found a way to get audio into Vokator via side chain on the right channel (respectively Vokator input B). If anybody gets audio into Vokator from the right channel of the stereo bus which is selected as side chain input, please let us know!

As it is a bit confusing to work with Logic here, please refer to the Readme of Vokator.

Just another note: currently Vokator appears as an *FX* in Logic for example in an audio track. As we have *disabled* the FX option for Vokator AU we are suprised that Logic is showing the FX at all!? (unfortunately this causes some confusion). We are investigating....

I can only get the the left channel of the bus to sound in the au. BUT, if I use the latest beta of the vst-au adapter i can get both bus channels to transmit to vokator. The procedure is just like for the vst in the manual. Insert the fx in an instrument slot. Send to audio channels to a bus, pan them hard left and right. I then disable the bus output. Voila: vokader gets live inpus left and right. The only problem I've found with the adaptor is a bug that prevents the some logic windows to open correctly when the plug in window is open. This solved by closing the vokator window before opening for example the environment window. This does not work in the vst-au adaptor version previous to the 1.20 beta. Maybe it could be an idea to check out how come the adaptor manages to give two channels while the au does not.

what I've communicated with Omar and anyone else who will listen is that I just want the AU to work like the VST FX plugin with two audio streams and no midi. I put it on a bus and send one signal hardpanned R and on hardpanned L. I don't use the MIDI. I'd say skip the sidechain for now and get this to work. I know 5 people who use Vokator and no one uses the midi instrument. everyone uses it like I do: they use a VSTi or something on one side and a drum track on the other or something similar.

I think that you guys are:

focusing too much on the sidechain.

not asking us how we use the plugin to make sure that you aren't cutting out users that you could be serving.

If you would just make the AU FX work like the VST fx you'd make me happy, at least.

In any case I'm using the adapter for now, but I'm pretty bloody grumpy that you guys are taking so long. If there wasn't a sidechain WHY DIDN'T YOU MAKE IT WORK LIKE IT DID IN OS9 until the sidechain was hammer out? Why make us suffer through all these bugs when you could have brought out a version with acceptable functionality and then updated it?

I hope I don't sound unreasonable but I've been waiting so long for this AU to work properly that it's past being a joke. Your customer support and software quality for OSX users is absolutely horrible. I hope things start to look up.
