I just purchased the Gary Garritan Jazz plug in,and for some reason I'm only able to hear 90% of the sounds. I would load let's say sax, and it would watch it download, and I'll hit the keys, but hear nothing. The MIDI light will be flashing, but I still would not hear anything. Can anyone help.

P.S. I know I'm in the wrong thread, but I'm new, and I didn't know how to open a new topic...sorry....

    Thx......

You have to move the Mod Wheel up.
For Garritan libraries it is impostant to read the manual.

    Application installation error.

The move to Vista has been (surprisingly) uneventful and my hardware is recognised more easily than in XP. Also, most VI's seem to have less sound anomolies - at least so far.

EW, please help if you can. I had to de-activate Garritan Jazz Big Band to re-authorise it. Then, when I started it up, I get this error message: "Application installation error. Please reinstall Gary Garritan - Jazz Big Band". Of course, the app won't run. If I re-install, I'll have to de-activate again and then I won't be able to re-authorise with the same machine/OS that I authorised THIS one on.

How do I get around this ? NI really should look into alternate copy protection. I know it's all been hashed and bashed before but there is absolutely no reason to keep paying customers from having access to their software. I'm not excited yet....let's see what we can do about this. Of course, I have a few other NI products that I'll have to re-authorise under the new OS and the potential is there for the same situation.

Thanks for any assistance you can render - you've had working answers in the past so I'm confident this is going to turn out o.k.

    Peace,

    Dave

Actually, you shouldn't have to deactivate. Just reinstall. If your systemID's the same, it'll just use it and activate around it. If not, it will give you a flag saying all your authorizations are used.

The only times I deactivate a profile are 1) if I've retired the machine the profile's for, or 2) if I run up against a flag saying all my authorizations are used up when trying to authorize an app. I've reinstalled apps using the same profile a number of times without having to deactivate.

Greets, EW, and thanks for your timely response. I agree with the policy of not de-activating profiles but as I'd 'maxed out' a couple of my instruments, including Garritan, I thought I'd need to re-authorise since I'd changed operating systems. The messages I'd received from my other NI instruments told me I needed to de-activate a profile to re-authorise. I assume this to be correct as the apps won't even start up after the message. I'll try the re-install.
    Thanks for your help.

    Peace,

    Dave
