    Utter noob here.

I have the Kirk Hunter samples on an external hard drive.

when I try to "add library" and point it to the drive, it returns "no library found".

If I try to add the path to the database and update, it gives me "the database is read-only and can't be changed" (I get this message when trying to update the native kontakt samples on my hard drive too).

I can play the Kirk hunter stuff if I browse it in the files tab, but it's completely disorganized and I don't really know what I'm playing.

    What am I missing?

    Hey There

I've organized certain instruments/samples into folders, and would like to "add" library to Kontakt to improve my work flow.

I can see that there needs to be a "library" file created - so how is this done?

    All the best!

Kirk Hunter isn't a Kontakt player library, you can't "add library" it will never show up.

I have concert strings II and Diamond, and I just have them setup in the quick browse menu.

They are kontakt format, but not "powered by kontakt".

Powered by Kontakt are the only instruments that show up when you "add library"
