    Hi,
I've been using Traktor Pro for a while now on my laptop, mainly just for playing around on for fun. I'm looking to start getting into it a bit more seriously and using it properly and would like to get some sort of mixer hardware to use with it. I have no other DJ equipment, but think that having something with physical dials and fader etc will help, rather than being stuck using keyboard/trackpad.

What are my options and what is recommended? From what I've seen, a Kontrol Z1 is the best option for this, which I could add to in future. Is that correct and is there anything else I should consider? Apologies for the basic question, I really am quite new to this. Thanks for any help.

If you are starting out, an all in one audio interface and controller is ideal. The Z1 has the audio interface, but is a bit limiting as only having faders and EQ. I would suggest the S2 or S4 - and even the Recently superseded S2 Mk1 units would be fine (though unfortunately has no iOS support for Traktor DJ) to save some cash.

There are good beginner alternatives like the MixTrack Pro 2 and DDJ-SR, but both are SeratoDJ controllers and will need a mapping a probably tweaking to get working in Traktor. The advantage of buying the S2/4 is they just work.
