Getting strange double hits in Live

    Hey,

Iv'e been trying to get Maschine triggering drum racks in Live. In theory it's working how I want. ( Using LiveMaschine remote script until I figure out how to make my own, for the instant mapping to macro's ).

Only problem is i'm getting these weird double hits making the act of playing drums a waste of time. It's happening on all the pads seemingly at random. I don't get this using Maschine standalone. Well I have had it before, but very rarely.

Anyone have any ideas? I've turned off the 'press' action for the pads and am using only 'Hit' to trigger my notes in Lives Drum Racks.

Has anybody had this issue? I'm just trying to use Maschine as a Midi Controller for Live.

Any fixes or similar experiences would be good to hear about. Thx :D

I wish I could remember exactly how I fixed, but I had the exact same problem. In fact, I thought the drum pack I bought (Abbey Road 70's) had major phasing problems for awhile until I realized this was actually a doubled midi note.

Wish I could remember exactly what I did to fix it, but its got to do with a setting in Live I'm pretty sure - try making sure you've got MIDI devices configured properly, set to receive on the right channel and all of that. I'm pretty sure there was some kind of weird internal loop/duplication of the midi info being recorded that caused this to happen.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, it's good to hear it's something I can hopefully solve if I mess about with some settings in Live.

The thing about a midi loop sounds exactly right haha.

I'll post back here when I get it sorted just in case anybody else ends up in the same boat.

    :]

You haven't set Live to send/receive MIDI to/from Maschine, causing some kind of loop-back?
I hated using Maschine inside Live and never came up against this but can imagine IF that were in place, causing a few problems.

    It's not a loopback issue.
I've noticed exactly what you are talking about with that template. It's something about the way the racks respond to midi input from the pads when the template is using mackie control stuff. I don't really get what the deal is, but if you go into Controller Manager and change the channel of the pads you use for the drum rack to transmit on something other than the channel that the mackie controls are on (most likely ch 1), you should fix the double notes. Like, if the drum pads are transmitting on ch1, change them to ch2. Fixed it for me.

It's a bug in the LiveMaschine template. If you go to the Assign tab in the Controller Editor, and then you'll see a Hit and a Press tab. The problem is it's set to transmit note data on both a hit and a press, to fix you just need to change the press assignment to something other than note. Poly pressure is handy, or just 'off'. The annoying this is you have to do this for every pad.

Or you could go and get my MEGAMaschine template here: http://megatroid.noisepages.com/2012/02/megamaschine/

It uses the same IMap feature for the macro controls as LiveMaschine.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I've tried everything suggested and it's still doing it. I haven't had the maschine handy for a couple days so i'll report back when i've had time to mess with it.

Good catch Megatroid - That makes sense. For the OP, the only other thing I could think of would be that maybe a track input is checked in the Midi prefs that should be turned off when using that template? Let us know!

I get the same issue, double-triggering of pads, on a Mikro Mk2 I just bought used. On all pads, at random, just like you.

Weirdly, it works fine as a MIDI controller in Live for me. The issue only happens in Maschine software.
