Is there a way to store a value that will then persist regardless of the snap chosen? I'm hoping to avoid using something as sizeable as an event table because I only want to store a single numeric value (the value will change as the ensemble runs, so I can't use a constant).

    snap isolate.

click on the properties of a Knob (for example) in the section that looks like cog wheels, there is a choice called snap isolate.
turn that on. the value of the knob will not change from snap to snap. it will only change when you change it manually.

what are you trying to do exactly?

if i want to temporary store a value, then i use the value-module, or when the value at [Val] changes all the time, then i use 2 value-modules in sequence. then the value is stored 'between' the modules, and can be recalled by sending something to the second [in] input.

    Knobs

Snap isolate is good to know, but in this particular instance I'm trying to set values without having to manually move controls around. What would be exceptionally cool is if Reaktor had their knobs set up to have input ports, so that we could set their value by way of wiring.

Basically what I'm trying to do is store the value of the previously selected snap. But, I'm also just figuring global variables would be a useful thing to know for whatever happens to come up. I'll try messing around with value modules, thanks.

That would be useful! What you have today is remote control. Once you get how to do it it's really easy. Check the excellent FX tutorial by David Coffin in the user lib on how.
