    Hello all,

Does anyone know of any good Reaktor tutorials, the manual is great but it only does exactly what it says on the tin (i.e. it's a manual).

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Jason Taylor

There's a couple on the NI site.. but I'd not say they're good really. Some of them don't even work actually if I recall correctly.

Janelle and her gang are working on tutorials... maybe one day they'll actually have something to show for it. ;-)

This forum is a great resource though. If you have any questions, be sure to ask.

    Len Sasso...

I've been interested in that guide. How beneficial is that book and how relevant is it to v4?

Does he go in great detail about all the things that are NOT in the manual? Does the book make real-world applications with the more obscure modules in reaktor?

I'm interested in it but I don't want to buy the book if a v4 is coming out, or if it doesn't relate to v4.

put it this way, the manual for me is rubbish. this is much better
to help understand reaktor. i think that it is still relevant.

yes on both counts. there some nice things on the cd that you get with the book. for me there could have been more of this in the book but it is better than nothing. hopefully some of the upcoming tutorials will help with this,

i don't know if a new version is coming out for r4 but is still think that you will learn a lot from the version out at the moment.

I agree with sowari's comments - the Len Sasso book is quite worthwhile. I'm looking forward to seeing the tutorials Janelle and friends are putting together as well. Anyone heard anything about them lately?

Actually the best way to learn Reaktor is to flood spoombug with questions via email. He loooves that kinda stuff. Trust me!

Sasso's Reaktor 3 Book still in print?

I went to wazoo dot com and couldn't find it. They didn't show it in the search, and they didn't have it in the monster discount page, either.

Something tells me it may be out of print ...
It's quite hard to track that book down.

You can find it in the NI online shop. It's with the synth line stuff. ;-)

I just bought the Len Sasso book. I've just started reading through it and it looks great. Unfortunately the CD is useless as everything in it requires a Reaktor 3 dongle to open (I started out with Reaktor 4).

I'm sure someone here would be kind enough to convert them for you if you ask nicely. :)

Also.. NI's support claims they'll convert R3 ensembles to R4. You could email them.

It's no wonder NI's support is slow.. they're bogged down with reauth requests and R3 conversions likely. :-\

Len has a website too - www.swiftkick.com - I don't know if the (book CD) stuff has been converted to R4 or not, but it might be worth visiting his site to see. You can't be the first to have this problem. ;-)

One of the UK computer music magazines has a Reaktor tutorial this month - it's pretty basic but the free CD has some handy files on it.

It's either Computer Music or Music Tech - can't remember sorry.

Len Sasso R4 book not planned

FWIW, According to an email response from NI, there are no current plans for a Reaktor 4 book from Len Sasso.

Of course this could be subject to change.
NI has the Reaktor 3 books in stock ready for immediate shipment, though.
