Lately my Guitar Rig 5 is opening to the wrong sound driver. It won't change until I open POD farm then close it. Then signal goes through it.
How do I change this? Win. 10.

    Ron-e-g,

What are the other options that are available under [Driver] and [Device]?

I have these... none of which are producing sound, when I open GR5 from the taskbar.

    Ron-e-g,
    Okay....
    1. Ensure that you are using ASIO.
    2. What are you using for an output device...speakers, headphones....?

Lastly...ensure that you are getting the "round-about" latency down to 10.0ms or less. 20.0ms and 44.5ms are just a bit too high!!

I am using ASIO in GR. As you see, it is running, but no sound into GR. Not until I open the POD farm program, then it starts to work. Otherwise no input/output from GR, in any sound driver.

changed the buffer settings to the lowest in UX2 driver. It seems to have solved this problem.
Thank you for your help mr-es335 for your help.

Hum..spoke too soon. Forgot I had opened the POD Farm to access the driver control panel to lower the latency. GR still doesn't produce sound without opening the POD Farm first. Even though the audio preferences in GR shows the UX2 line 6 ASIO driver running.

How does the Routing tab look in GR properties after you set the ASIO device to UX2?

    Ron-e-g,
What other options are available for the inputs,,,something does not look right here...!

I believe it should say "Input"...and not "Send"..

    Here is what I have...

    Ron-e-g,
Unless someone else can "chime-in" here...is there not someone near you who can get assistance from? This really needs to be looked at more closely.
PS: Did you receive my PM?

I did, I responded. I live in a small town..have to drive 20 miles to either north/south direction to even go to a Home Depot or Lowe's ;) Maybe NI support would be my next move? I appreciate your offer mr-es335. However this is not an absolutely critical problem, more of a nuisance. Not warranting a pay solution for me at this point. (Assuming that is your proposal) BTW after I open the POD Farm program first, then the GR5 it works, and the inputs look the same as posted.

This sounds more like a Line 6 issue if you have to open Pod Farm in order to see/access the proper driver... Obviously if the driver is not available, then GR5 will select the next best (well maybe not "Best") thing or any driver that is currently available. I would not consider that a bug or defect, its doing what it is supposed to be doing. Just my 2 Cents...

    Peace,

    Blindeddie

Hello Blideddie, Thank you for your response. You could very well be right. Although I tend to think not, as the UX2 driver works in all other instances. It use to work properly in GR5 in the past. I don't know what has changed. GR5 is the only one of my (many) audio related programs) that this is occurring in. It is not choosing another audio driver, it shows the ASIO TonePort as present, and running.

mr-es335, sorry on both accounts. I did sen an email reply to yours. I don't know where it went. I misunderstood your intentions. I am willing to accept your offer to remotely help. Let me add a bit of new information I have stumbled on. If I start the CPU then go to GR it doesn't work. If I then select re-start to boot again..when I open GR it works!...?

Problem solved! With the gracious help of mr-es335 He has determined the issue to be the fact that the TonePort UX2 sound driver is not multi client. Even though this is not a NI issue, He worked with me to remedy this issue. Thank You mr-es335. You are both a gentleman, and a scholar! Your vast knowledge was very appreciated!
