GR2.2 breaks CubaseSX2.2 Song if e.g. Kontakt2 is loaded

Hi,
I just updated to GR2.2 yesterday, and played with the standalone version for a while. No problems, great update! (or so I thought...)

Today, I tried loading a song into Cubase SX 2.2 that contains an instance of GR2, and Cubase just hangs during loading (waited for >15 minutes).

After a lot of trial and error (a.o. renaming the GR2 DLL, after which I could load the song again), I tried to remove all VST instruments, and voila, the song loads WITH GR2.2.

Then I tried adding VST instruments again, and as soon as I added either Kontakt2, Battery2, or Battery3 (I own Komplete 2+4), the song again could not be loaded.

Here's the easiest way I found to repro this:
- Start a new song
- Add a stereo audio track
- Insert GR2.2 in the insert FX of that audio track (not necessary to select a certain preset)
- Load e.g. Battery2 into the VST instrument rack.
- Save the song
- End and restart Cubase 2.2
- Try loading the song. It won't load and hang Cubase.

- Problem is the same if I try the DirectX Version of GR2.2
- Everything worked fine with GR2 (before the update to GR2.2)

Some system information:
- PC, Intel P4 3000, 1GB RAM
- Win XP Professional
- Native Instruments Komplete 2 and 4 installed (all activated)
- Cubase SX 2.2 (latest build)
- Lots of other VST instruments and effects installed

Anyone have an idea? Or at least can repro this?

I am so frustrated. Just wasted 2 hours on this...

more frustration: Tried to go back to GR2 by uninstalling GR2 from the Windows Control Panel. Then installed GR2 from the Komplete4 DVD again. Had to activate again. Successful.

Standalone works fine. But when I try to load the VST, GR2 tells me that I installed an update that needs activation. When I run the NI Service Center, everything is activated (including GR2).

Arrrggggghh!

NI, at least give me GR2 back!

Sobbing uncontrolled...
