When I update to GR3.2 via the Service Center, when I run GR3.2 it keeps coming up saying my hardware has changed and that I need to re-activate the program using NI Service Center. However, when I run Service Center, it states it is activated. I have tried to go to overview, then delete the serial number under GR3 and then re-enter it, but nothing works. It keeps coming up saying it needs to be re-activated or it runs in DEMO mode only.

Anyone know a work around? GR3.1 runs fine, but I wanted the Rig Control to work under Vista 64 so I updated.

Yea, I did... funny thing is I can use the 3.11 update just fine (no VST though), but once I upgrade it's like it is asking for a whole new serial number. At least the rig control update works well for me!

I have the same issue so I know this isn't user error. I have contacted support about this. The only thing I tried to do was uninstall GR3, restart, reinstall GR3, restart, and then update to 3.... no luck. What exactly does "hardware is changed" refer to? I haven't changed or added any hardware on this computer since I installed Komplete 5 to begin with. BTW.. it seems my VST works fine.

This was tested, so I'm unsure what the issue is. I can't help you as I'm not a Vista 64 user.

Thanks for your patience and sorry for the trouble.

    primitive...

have you had any response from tech support yet? i don't know about you but when i installed my NI plugs, I did so on a separate hard drive (not C:). but service center is on both C: and the audio programs hard drive. i'm not sure where GR3.2 would be looking for authorization from but it shouldn't have a problem finding it. seems like an easy fix on NI's part. maybe just to edit the registry keys.

No I haven't. However you are correct, it isn't the plugin. The plugin works fine, just the stand-alone version is demo-ed out and I can't activate it. Weird.

I did a fresh install of Vista Ultimate 64 too, so it's not that...

This has happened to me as well. Standalone is not activated. When I use the Support Center, it says all products are activated. Help?

well here's what NI tech support told me to do...

I don't see how uninstalling and re-installing using the discs is different than uninstalling and re-installing using the last GR3.1 installation that worked fine and i don't think i really feel like going through all that. If it's supposed to be an update, it should just work. Period!

Hmmm, let us know if it works for you. For me, however, I did this but I don't have KOMPLETE 5. I can tell you I've done this with Guitar Rig 3, (uninstall all, then reinstall original CD, then update through Service Center) but it doesn't work for me. Right now, I'm just using the new Rig Control driver with 3.11 update...

Has anyone else noticed the noise problem under the new update? Any patches with the High White heads are really noisy! Not so with the previous update... weird.

yeah that didn't work.. which is what i figured! i was thinking about deleting the system id key, serial, etc. from the registry after another uninstall and reboot and try to install again. anyone think this might work?

Ok, finally got a response from NI just wanting screenshots, registery info, etc. I sent that off today so maybe there will be a fix.

I really think this is a problem with the update. I can run 3.11 just fine, funny thing is when using the plugin or the DEMOED standalone version (it will not activate, see above), there is some really bad hissing from some of the patches which wasn't there before the update.

I'm just a little bummed out because I've been waiting for the update for a while. Oh well, at least, for the majority of the time, Guitar Rig 3.11 runs well with the new Rig Control update.

i got that same email from NI.. keep me informed.. in my email it said to
UAC was disabled from the minute i installed Vista.. and i shouldn't have to install GR 3.2 to C: if it worked fine before and so do all the other NI plugs that are also not installed on C:, so i told them i would not do that and asked that they fix the update. guess i won't be using it for a while.

I started a thread describing my problems but now I realize that my issues belong here. I too am running Vista64. 3.1.1 was working fine. I upgraded to 3.2 - everything in its default locations on my C drive. Sonar started crashing on an existing project. My bad, but I didn't think to open one of my instances of GR3 (I was just trying to listen to the project, and wasn't getting very far). When I opened an instance (this is within Sonar, so plugin, not standalone mode), I got the 'Your hardware has changed' message. If I click Activate, I get the Service Center telling me there is nothing needing activation. When I close Service Center, I can use all my instance of GR3 normally. Only downside is all my settings are lost. If I close Sonar and restart, this whole process repeats.

*frowny face*. Very disappointed with this update.

    Exactly the same problem here.

Slight difference: I'm temporarily running on an old version of XP x64 while I wait for the parts for my new DAW to arrive. Everything else in Komplete 5 works well enough to keep me up and running, but standalone GR3 gives me the "hardware changed" message.

Seems it's related to 64-bit use in general?

Same problem here. After installing 3.2 on top of 3.1.1, I was asked to activate after starting the application. After logging into Service Center I was told that it was already activated. I uninstalled 3.2 and went back to 3.1.1 - no more message. Looks like a bug in 3.2 NI.
