Just sent my request through tech support. But this activation issue does not sound to be isolated. I would think that we should not have to do this on a case-by-case basis. Sounds like a now known bug that needs to be fixed. If there is a fix, how about posting it?

Still no word. I was just hoping for 8-5.

Just received an automated response for my request for assitance on this activation issue. The message had several links, none of which addresses this issue. I was asked to provide more detail - I thought I had when I filled out the original request.

For those of us who are having this activation issue after istalling the 3.2 update, I believe, understand that some fixes do not happen immediately, but NI could we get an acknowledgement that this is indeed a known problem and that it is being reviewed?

I agree wholeheartedly with you BasketCase, some acknowledgment from NI would be appreciated. Sadly, I think the most likely response we will get is Marc_S chiding us for expecting something during the weekend - they don't work 24-7!

*sigh* I was hoping to record some guitar this weekend. :(

I'm sorry if you took it as a chide, it was not intended that way. NI reads these forums regularly, so I'm sure they are aware of your issues and will comment when they have something to say definitively. I am very sorry that you're having all these issues and I hope resolution happens soon.

Guys the best I can say is that I've sent in my screenshots, etc a while ago and I haven't heard anything.... I noticed there is a "hotfix" update on the way, but it doesn't seem to be addressing this issue.... I hope it does... btw, 3.1.1 runs fine but I would like 64 bit compatibility (and a little more tweaking on the CPU usage would be great).

And YES the ProCat does have a hissing issue!

I too have sent in my screen shots, error logs, registry dumps, etc. and have not heard anything either.

Today on a whim I decided to try uninstalling and re-installing and had the same lack of success as others here did. One thing I thought was interesting was that the installer wanted to install the 64bit version of the vst dll in my 32 bit directory (Program Files (x86)) and vice versa. Odd.

I noticed that as well. Very odd indeed.

There is a 3.2.1 update announced from NI. Please hold tight until this update comes out.

From what I see 3.2.1 does not identify and problably does not fix this reactivation issue. It looks as though NI does not see this as a delivered problem and hence no response to this specific issue or attempts to address it either here or through the help desk.

Sadly, I tend to agree. It's a shame our issue did not rate one response from tech support, which as his signature pointedly tells us, Marc_S is not. Maybe they are all still hungover from the parties at NAMM.

From some previous posts I get the impression that the Windows 64bit community for whatever reason, is not worth much of NI's time. Tell me if I'm wrong, Marc.

That not at all true. Windows 64 support was the key reason for the 3.2 update. If they didn't care, they wouldn't have invested in the update. I know you're frustrated, please hang in there. It's easy to get discouraged and think that they don't care. They do. They take issues in the order that they come in, so I'm sure it's just a busy time for them. Please be patient.

No offense dude, but are you telling me that they have time to read the forums, but they are SO INCREDIBLY BUSY that they can't post a simple "Yeah, it's an issue. We're working on it." I think that's what almost everyone on this thread has been asking for. And yeah, we are frustrated - it's not like there is some annoying bug that we can work around. Right now I have a $300+ piece of software that is unusable.

    Hi Quantumdots,

Tech support does not reply on the forums and they are the ones who are busy. I will do my best to see this through for you but please remember that I am here to help. Please be patient while I do my best.

    Good news:

The issues you're reporting in this thread is taken care of with the 3.2.1 update. NI is working very hard to bring this to you ASAP. I'm sorry for your pain and I thank you for your patience. A fix is on the way. Please see the thread (http://www.native-instruments.com/forum_us/showthread.php?t=55431) for the official information.

Again, sorry for your pain and frustration; it clearly wasn't intentional and all steps are being taken to rectify the situation as soon as possible.

    Marc

I confirm, this issue also exists in windows 7 64bit.

3.1 works fine, 3.2 activation problem.

There wasn't any doubt from me that a fix would be available. One of the reasons I like NI so much... HOPEFULLY, Guitar Rig will not disappear like GigaStudio (eek!).

Ok, I received "official" word that there is a bug that affects certain CPU configurations under Vista 64 bit that will be addressed in the upcoming hotfix.

Of course, 3.1.1 is working fine for me. I'm glad NI still strongly supports their software. I hope they stick around for a long long time.
