    Good evening everyone,

I have a little problem with my version of Guitar Rig 4. I bought KOMPLETE 7 along with a MIDI Controller (CME M-Key), and it's working well with all programs except Guitar Rig 4. GR4 recognizes the Controller, but it doesn't accept any input from it. When I try to play something with it, there won't be any input in any way, shape or form. Here are my Audio & MIDI Settings:

I am unable to turn on the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth in the MIDI Output category, and turning on the CME M-Key Output won't do anything.

If you need more information, just answer here in the thread; help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a similar problem with my GR4 using a Lexicon MPXR1 and a M-AUDIO Fast Track Pro. It recognizes M-AUDIO and I can assign "learn" to an external continuous pedal from MPXR1. But it doesn´t recognize any "program change" command correctly. No matter witch button I choose GR4 return to the first preset. MPXR1 is working good with my Marshall JMP1 and I´m using OMNI to MIDI in GR4. grigmidi.png

    @TheOzzsome:
You HAVE a guitar connected right (I mean you can't expect to get sound by pressing keys on your midi keyboard)? Guitar rig is all about processing incoming sound.

@filipecamargo: Did you 'Save as default' + 'Lock' the midicontrols in GR? Seems you have to do those to get program change to work.

No, I do NOT have a guitar connected to my PC. The only device that is able to be noticed by Guitar Rig 4 is my CME M-Key MIDI Controller. I even plug out my headset microphone way before starting GP4. So it's kinda weird.

Yes, well Guitar rig does not generate any sound by itself or from a midi keyboard, it's all about sound effects.

As said if you use it standalone, you need an audio source coming into your soundcard for it to modify.

You can use it as a plugin (VST) inside a DAW software (such as reaper, ableton, cubase, logic etc) as an effect on one or more sound tracks.

If you use some VST host (there are a few free ones), you can set up for example an Absynth VST instance and route it's audio through a Guitar rig VST there.

Thanks a lot! Just tried what you said (Ableton + Absynth + GP4), and it worked.

Thanks for the tip! But program change still does not work. I had to assign a CC# (continuos controller) in order to select a preset (and this CC always select this particular preset, no matter witch bank). I have seen a GR3 working with a MPXR1 and program change#1 was assigned to first preset in a bank, PC#2 to second preset and so on, and CCs were used to turn on/off a selected effect inside a preset (ex: delay on/off). GR4 does not work that way?

    Thanks!

    I´ve discovered the problem!
Parameter "Bank Change" in MPX-R1 must be set to "0" (default is 32). I really don´t know what it means but it´s working!
    Thanks!

Yes, I got it now. I need to open another program (like Absynth or Kontakt) as a VST plugin in my recording program. THEN I have to open Guitar Rig and set up whatever sound I want.

    Thanks a lot!
