    Hi all,

I just bought TSPro from an online retailer (DJKit.co.uk) and they accidently sent me an old version of Traktor Scratch. Now the hardware is fine but I would like the new version of the software. Having contacted them they said they would let me return it but I don't really want to go through the hassle of sending it back. They suggested contacting NI as there is a grace period for updates on stuff purchased after a certain date.

So i filled out the form, sent proof for purchase, serial etc etc but it keeps returning my request saying the form was incomplete (which it's not.) Can someone please advise me what to do? If it helps I also have Traktor 3, which I'm sure I read somewhere entitles me to a free update to Pro anyway as I now have T3 + TS.

The Grace Period ended 31st Dec:
    check this: http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73334
I would 'guess' that the reason the form is not being submitted is that you didnt buy within the correct period and/or that you have not registered it yet?

Also having T3 and TS only enabled the FREE update if both products were bought and registered before November 1st, 2008. You will not qualify for this.

Id add that if you call NI Support they may help BUT are quite within their rights to refuse .
DJKit.co.uk sold you the wrong product. Their website clearly shows PRO and whilst im not in the position to say they did it on purpose to get rid of old stock they have misinformed you about the Grace Period (maybe innocently) . They should swap your product.

You can download the DEMO version in the meantime to get you started with Pro.

Personally id send it back. And get a lovely new boxed Pro.

On the other hand if Support will honour the Grace Period (doubtful) you then have TS and TSPRO.

Firstly call support get a definitive answer but be aware that this is 100% the fault of DJkit.co.uk

    Hope you get sorted .

    Karlos

[EDIT shops are selling Trakor Scratch at vastly reduced prices. You have probably paid too much for old software. worth considering]

Thanks for the help mate, I think I saw that the grace period was over in the email now I think about it. Just got off the phone to DJKit, the guy was pretty helpful and told me that he will get me the new version for free, whether that means replacing the whole thing or just sending me Traktor Pro in the post. I would prefer to just have him send it and save the hassle, but he has no stock of either so I'm going to have to wait whatever. I have the demo at the moment and have been using it in the meantime.

    Cheers for the clarification.

I think a complete swap would be the best solution.
Im glad he was helpful but the tidiest way of doing this is a swap and yeah it should cost you nothing , not even shipping.

Yeah I know the complete swap is probably the best idea, but I live in student accommodation and sending/receiving deliveries is quite a complex affair, I would prefer to deal with 1 delivery instead of 2. And yeah he said he would get me the new version for free whatever happens, shipping too.

Thanks again mate, hopefully I don't have any more problems with these guys!
