What does the ground loop problem sound like? Is it very noticeable? I can't say I've noticed anything to be honest but then the sound where I play is a bit poor anyway. I'm using an external firewire soundcard.

I'm just interested because I have one of those devices spare and don't know whether it's worth me using it.

Sounds like a "HUMMMMMMMMMMM". The louder you put up your volume the louder the hum.

Hey guys. I've had this problem off and on depending where I'm playing. I did a party last Saturday from 8 pm to 3 am and had to keep unplugging my power cord on my laptop to use my turntables and the FS records. I managed to make it thru the night without anyone noticing I was playing straight from the laptop 50% of the time. After reading this thread I found a ton of ways to fix my problem. I all you guys big time. Thanks for helping out a fellow DJ.

    Peace, love & big phat ghet-to boo-tays!

Just wanted to let you know that i played out on a large club soundsystem with the FS1.5.4 system and by following youre advise the night was.........

    a success!!!

at last, i seemed to have eliminated the damn ground loop hum.

    Here's what i did:

    1. I bought a ground loop isolator and plugged this into the master out.
    2. I then placed duct tape around the earth pin of my laptop power cable (effectively 'lifted' the ground)

    and voila....

    no ground loop!!!!!

played for 5 hours with not 1 sound issue arising from FS!

Just want to thank everyone for your help, advise and support, now only if NI/Stanton take any notice of what seems like a common problem and take action for the next model of what is otherwise a great product.

    Happy days!!!
