OK, what gives... I just installed the GR2 demo, and on first launch it reports "Your demo version evaluation period has expired. Thank you for testing GuitarRig 2 Demo."

Can someone explain what's going on here? Is it confused by my existing installation of GR1? So disappointed...

Yeah, just tested a second system and it did the same thing. I am really frustrated. It's a recurring theme with NI products that I have hangups w/ licensing, timeouts etc. Tech support's always cool once I get in touch with them, but nights like this - where I've got a new product I can't use - burn me up. The worst part is the hours I just wasted downloading, installing, uninstalling, and generally trying to troubleshoot this thing...

Oh well, par for the course on day one, I guess.

Restart your machine or wait until the clock rolls past Nov 16th. One of those two events allowed me to use the demo.

Got the same thing and I gotta say I've just about had it with this company. It's not like this is anything new.

I am very sorry to say that I own many of their bug products.

Well, I know the restart didn't do it, so maybe the 11/16 thing will have. Seems a rather odd requirement though, and one that wasted a good deal of my time.

Yes, NI products are consistently rough around the edges, but they're also typically ahead of the pack in terms of sound and flexibility. They really need a good UI designer and a more critical testing staff to put the final sheen on their applications. Just consider the fact that the "skins" on most of the user-created Reaktor ensembles look better than the Reaktor interface itself. One product costs hundreds, the others are free. Hmm...

Got the same error. Once my comp clock hit 12am it worked. Probably a bad date check. Oh well. I wouldn't try changing your clock manually as sometimes demos will detect a change and kill your whole trial.

I changed my clock forward and got it to work with no subsequent problems. Your mileage may vary.
