I'll grant you that there wasn't a huge group of people requesting Massive, but I think that's more because nobody suspected that it was even an option. I mean, Massive really fills in some of the gaps with the current package, but it's also a $200 piece of software when you get it by itself. I just hope it doesn't end up being some limited version like with the Reaktor they give you currently. That would be extremely disappointing.

Also, you make some pretty big assumptions when you say that most people who would want it already have it. Not everyone can readily just throw down over $1000 on software. Many Maschine users only have the Mikro, which wasn't eligible for the Komplete deal. Many Maschine users bought units after the Komplete deal. Many if not most of us have already stretched our budgets getting the Maschines we have, and we don't have the extra money to shell out for Komplete, even though the crossgrade deal really was a good one.

Anyway, I wasn't saying that everyone should be fanboys or that nobody should ever criticize anything about NI. Even my own post was critical of how NI handled the release of the F1 (i.e. not giving any extra incentives to people who already had Traktor licenses). I was just addressing the petty, self-centered, immature whining that seems to pollute these forums. The funny thing about the whiners is that if they ever do get the cojones to ditch NI, they're just going to whine about whatever new companies they go with.

So more on-topic, has anyone who's checked out 1.8 noticed any changes in workflow? I think they have a list somewhere of the changes, but those are often difficult to understand, and it would be good to hear from someone who has no stake in making anything look better than it is.

self appointed defenders of the faith are just as annoying as the hyperbolic MPC fanboys . the only reasons i come on the forum are to check for updates, or to do a bug report or feature suggestion when something about maschine has got up my nose.

people have legitimate gripes with maschine, let them get it off their chest without going all white knight yeah?

I just want the Midi-Mode bug to be fixed ASAP. It should be at the top of their priority especially as the bug has been running rampant for TWO YEARS!

You don't think that warrants frustration on our part? Besides that, I LOVE Maschine, but I am not impressed with NI's "impromptu" attitude. You don't push out a new product without first addressing the issues of the previous, especially as it's the same software in this case.

I have to agree, that IS a good point.

Although I don't see the purpose of rushing out the new 1.8 just to satisfy long-time users who have wanted certain important updates for ages.
I'm sure we'd all much rather have a 100% stable platform with no glitches or bugs.
It would also look bad for the brand too if they release it early and the forum then becomes full of bug reporting. Folk researching to buy Maschine might get put off.

Look at a certain other product that was rushed out to a few US buyers. They've been posting up on the user forum reporting glitches and bugs of things that the company said the unit WOULD do ... and just doesn't do.
The users of this brand's products have been waiting a LONG LONG time for this kind of product with computer integration so you'd expect it to be perfect on launch, eh?

It gives a bad impression from the word go.

The days of releasing a product and no bugs is a thing of the past.one of the biggest problems facing developers is the problem of no two pcs are exactlly the same so one system will be more stable than another.

Ive had issues in the past with cubase that were all down to the chipset i had on my computer and onetime i bought a mackie onyx firewire interface that wouldnt work with certain amd processors it would glitch and stutter all the time in the end i had to return it after mackie tech told me there was isssues with non intel processors and no updates will be made they advised either upgrade my computer or return it .

No matter what time 1.8comes out there will always be people sayinjg it wont work ive read lots of things about bugs in 1.7 but they dont affct my computer.

Don't apologize for your opinion. I feel how I feel you feel how you feel. Me I would rather pay for an update rather than wait for them to push something new. Also I just feel like they're frontin and 1.8 is in beta on here but it comes out Oct 2 along with a Maschine MK2 that will have to be shipped. I already have Massive so your enjoyment is not shared by me because I spent the 199 already plus tax. I have an S4 a Maschine Traktor Scratch Pro and a Audio DJ 8 that I let my homie use. If that's not a loyal customer I don't know what is. You guys take stuff personal. I would appreciate that more if you owned stock in the N.I or you worked for them. You guys are just customers like me. You feel how you feel I feel how I feel and you can hate it or love it. I'm honest and I refuse to be played like I'm stupid. I do shipping you know how hard it would be for them to get the product packaged and distributed to just the 1000 Guitar Centers in the country by Oct.2nd? lmao Really I would just appreciate them putting it in final and being honest. That's all I don't even care just don't insult my intelligence. Now everyone have a nice day. My 599.99 was the same 599.99 you spent homie so respect how I feel and you keep on being happy about the update. I never said not to be.

Yeah I dig that but my question is if it's september 13th and they are shipping a new product with 1.8 the Install disc.... Do I sound crazy? I'm not talking about how amazing 1.8 will be i'm talking about it still being in beta but it needs to ship to be on time for 1.8. Lethal not to you but man I swear cats should be rich by owning stock in all these companies or be on the payroll because the moment you speak on something other than I love this or I can't wait for that you get jumped or banned lol. All I'm saying is it's not still in beta why nobody believe that lmao. It's so obvious. All the rest of the joints before where in final for a while so that also should ping a light bulb above everyone's head. N.I ships worldwide how you do that in 2 weeks and some change?

You don't sound crazy, I'm pretty sure the discs are in the box and the boxes are on the boats mate!

It's just that on 3 prior occasions the version of Maschine that came in the box was already out of date by the time the box was released, because they'd shipped the disc out before it was ready (or found issues after they shipped but before it was released).

When 1.0 was released 1.01 was already available in the Service Center, and 1.60 and 1.70 were never available for download in the service center because the ones on the disc had serious issues!

I bet you the first build number of Maschine 1.8 available for download to us owners will be higher than the one installed straight from the 1.8 disc :)

    ^^^This.
@vinceprice Your theory does not sound crazy at all. Just maybe not accurate but I see how you suspect that. I think you got jumped on more because of your tone or how you worded your thoughts. Anyway, it should not be too long now.

Maybe the os won't even be on the disc as 1.8 and you will have to update via the service center. (if the os is truly still in beta) ...although I believe it's probably done they're just waitin lol

I went to Guitar Center in Pittsburgh, PA today to buy a new guitar amp today and I looked on their mac and they too had maschine 1.8 loaded and I believe it was the r162 version. I asked the rep when they got their copy and he said when they got their new mac it was just loaded on there, whatever the heck that means I don't know. I messed with the new features briefly and the new colors and the waveform cursor are awesome, and the timestretch is in the sample edit which is so seamlessly integrated. Going home to 1.7 is so depressing now, lol! Here's to hoping they drop this awesome update very soon! Until then I have my new guitar toys.

Funny thing for me when I was trying to mess with 1.8 at GC. I was like a newbie all over again, i couldn't figure out what i was trying to do. I was trying to make a quick drum loop, resample it to a pad and timestretch it. I got it done but not as smoothly as I should've + the loop at the new tempo wasn't perfect. I can't front I am so ready.

I saw they added a preview button to the sample browse screen
