Hi. I have the iAxe which come with Guitar Combo Behringer edition. I use Acid for multitrack software. I can record the iAxe through Guitar Combo by choosing Behringer USB audio as the soundcard (Audio Device), but cannot hear the other tracks playing through the iAxe (which has a headphone jack). In other words, the Guitar Combo signal is being sent to Acid, but the signal from Acid isn't going back to the iAxe.

I realize this isn't a pure Native Instruments Guitar Combo question since it also involves Behringer software and hardware, but hope someone here can help. Thanks in advance.

For anyone following this thread, I've yet to get a decent answer from NI or from Behringer. It seems clear to me that the stand alone version of Guitar Combo that comes with the iAxe prevents the use of multi-track software. If anyone can find a work around, let me know.

Recently purchased the same setup as you. You appear to be correct in that the behringer edition does not come with either the VST or DXi plugin.

What I am looking at trying (haven't had time yet to play with it much) is to come out of the headset port and into a stereo in on my mixing board. It would then be sent out to the sound card for input into the sequencer. This means the laptop is running the amp sim and the desktop is running the sequencing program. Not the best arrangement in the world, I agree.

Without a VST or other plugin, it looks like this is the best we can do. Hope this helps

Last night I had my iaxe hooked up to the pc using the usb cable, and I went out to my amp from the headphone port, basically its like using my laptop and the guitar combo software as a preprocessor.

You could do the same thing into a mixing board or even right back into your soundcards input, and record the sound that way.

Correct- the Behringer version is standalone only.

These are good work arounds, but they all involve doing an additional d/a a/d conversion, thereby diminishing the sound quality. By including multitrack software in the bundle with the iAxe, Behringer creates the false impression that you can actually use that software to record the iAxe through the Guitar Combo software that is also included. Based on this bit of dishonesty, I would discourage anyone from getting the iAxe.

you're just the person I was looking for

a couple of quick questions if you don't mind

what amp input did you connect to,the normal one or the line-in?

did you like the sound? behringer just wrote to me that the result will not be very good (because the software already includes speaker modeling, which includes limiting to under 7KHz, and this is done by the amp too, so the result will be kind of ugly)

what about delay/latency? imperceptible? annoying? negligible?

    Thanks a lot!

Perhaps there is an ISIO app that splits or routes the internal paths. I have now 4 ASIO apps so as this is becoming common there must be something.

Also if you plug another guitar into the iAxe jack you'll get a nice surprise.

I added a "mixer" consisting of two 33K resistors into the jack to provide isolation so you can turn of the iAxe and get full volume from your normal guitar. If you use a headphone splitter you get a great jam or lesson giving scenerio.
