Okay, I've had guitar rig 2 for a while on my Win XP desktop computer. And I've just bought myself a macbook pro. According to the NI Service Center FAQ I can install two copies of this software as long as one is a desktop and one is a portable, and they aren't used at the same time. Well the Macbook installation won't let me activate. I get the message to purchase an additional license.
I have checked my activations and I only have one active (for the desktop). There are two others but I cancelled them (previous hardware incarnations of the desktop). Tried online and offline registration and neither would let me activate. Also e-mailed support a couple of days ago but they haven't got back to me.

So basically the question I have is: am I allowed 2 installations even though one is mac and one is PC. According the the FAQ I should be:

"Can I use an NI product on both, my desktop and my mobile computer, or must I obtain a second license for this?
According to the license agreement your product can only be used on one computer at a time. If you want to use your product on your mobile computer as well, but not simultaneously, a second installation for mobile use is included under your main license. Simply install the product on your mobile computer and complete a new activation for your laptop System ID. You will then receive a second activation key for the mobile computer."

You are allowed to do this -- hopefully you get the help you need here.

Thanks. Sorry, looks like I posted in the wrong forum. Anyone else experienced a similar issue?

    Hi onezero,

the IntelMac update is only free for Komplete 4 users and those who activated their software after the 12th of September 2006. All others have to pay for the IntelMac version. You can then buy this version in our online shop.

Thanks for the response, just purchased the update. I dunno if it's possible for you guys to elaborate on the error message that comes up in service center, but it might be good to have some clarification when you try to activate. This really had me perplexed. Thanks again.

    Hi,

thanks for the suggestion for Service Center that the message should be clearer when you have to buy the UB update. I forward this to the Service Center team.
