    Hi,

My Guitar Rig 3 Software Upgrade will not open.

When I click on GR3 application icon, I get the spinning beach ball for about 3 seconds then nothing.

When I try to use it as an RTAS plugin in PTLE, the plugin will not open and I get a DAE -7401 error - which seems to indicate a misplaced file (GR3 plugin in right place) or low system resources (unlikely in this case).

Software downloads and installs appear to complete properly. GR3 serial number shows as registered in my NI account.

All my products (Guitar Rig 2, Guitar Rig 3, B4 II, etc.) show as activated in Service Center.

Guitar Rig 2.2.2 and other NI software run fine, both in standalone mode and as RTAS plugins.

I have tried installs of GR3 3.0.0, 3.0.0 updated to 3.0.1 and had a go at 3.0.1 installed on its own. I have tried fresh installs with and without Guitar Rig 2 installed, and with a fresh install and update of Guitar Rig 2 to version 2.2.2 in place.

    Always the same problem.

System: G5 PPC Powermac, dual 2.7 gHz, OSX 10.4.9, 5.5 gB RAM, PT LE 7.3.1, Rig Kontrol 2.

Left a tech support request with NI on November 26/07 but have received no response as yet.

    I'm stumped. Any thoughts?

In answer to my own question: Received reply from NI tech. Suggested possible corrupted NI file and a complete uninstall of all NI products including all NI prefs in main and user libraries.

Did that, then installed GR 3 and update first, GR 2 and update second, then other NI. All working now, though I spent a fair bit of time getting B4 II to see its tonewheels.

    Cheers,
    T
