I just finished installing Komplet 8 and I have run int 1 issue. Guitar rig 5 works well, but I have a collection of presets I want to try out but I cannot find where to put them to make them show up in GR5.

I tried searching google for a answer but I couldn't find a clear cut way of importing a patch / preset into GR5.

Under the 'File' menu, select 'Import preset'. Show it where your presets are.

As an afterthought, if you want to know where your other presets are stored...
they are in your Documents folder inside the Native Instruments folder.

Thank you bluzkat, but it didn't work.

I moved all of the new presets into the same folder as the existing ones then chose file , import preset. It cycled but they do not show up.

    I must be missing something.

By default, user presets for Guitar Rig 5 are located at:

    C:\Users\(your user name)\Documents\Native Instruments\Guitar Rig 5\Sounds

Just put any of the sounds there and they will show up.

Since they do not have the attribute tags on them, if you go to the browser and do not select any of the filter buttons (style, amps, etc), then scroll down to the bottom of the list *just drag the slider to the bottom - it's fast, and you will see your newly placed presets there.

I've tried these instructions several times to no avail. What's next?

Check to make sure you have the right file types, where are you getting these presets from? If it is the correct file type you should be able drag and drop the file into your Guitar Rig 5 browser (the bottom part where the other presets are, not in the folder area above) if it will not go then you have an incorrect file type.
    Good luck

The files I've tried to drag and drop, yes in the bottom portion of the Presets, are .ngrr files. I received them in exchange for subscribing to a youtube channel - dcsdefense - directed to this channel from - mashandflutter channel - a "how to" instructor of some sort for presets in Guitar Rig 5. I even found the "sound" file and added them to that file. The only thing that shows up when I go into preferences and select import presets is the tag name "Mash and Flutter."
At any rate, maybe you can direct me to a good site for presets and I could attempt to add those to my rig.
    Thanks for your quick reply.

I create my own but I did play with some from http://guitarrigpresets.com/ and they imported just fine, they have a free demo pack (but then you have to pay for the rest) but you could use them to test your import capability and these don't work you may have to contact customer support cuz there may be something wrong with your program.

Yeah, I just want to grab some from a reliable source to see if my program has issues. Last week, I subscribed to guitarpresets.com and became a member, but I couldn't navigate/locate where the free demo pack was. In about 20-30 seconds of reviewing a site, and I don't find what I'm looking for, I simply x off the site and go elsewhere. I'll give guitarpresets another shot. Thanks for the tip. I'll keep ya posted whether I'm successful or not.

Okay, I downloaded the 50 bonus presets from guitarigpresets.com. Still have the same problem. I'll send a quick note to support.

Ugh... that is annoying. I hope you get it fixed soon, GR5 has been a great program for me and I hope you get the opportunity to enjoy it as I have.
