    1. Its smaller than I thought - a good thing
    2. It crackles - increased the buffer, still crackles, increased buffer some more - still crackles - strange thing is the crackling is consistent even between very different buffer settings (high cpu low cpu etc) - it is not distortion, the input led stays in the green all the time.

I can see the crackle causing a small spike in the Guitar rig software output meter, they are not visible on the software input meter though

I swapped my USB ports, even going as for as to use my (hold your breath) USB PCI card that is specially for my Access TI polar - but the problem is always exactly the same- occasional random crackels.

Anyone else getting this? anyone working fine? any solutions?

    Thanks and Best regards

I'm using the rig kontrol 3. supposed to have the same AD converters as mobile. I imagine they both have similar drivers. I get crackles too, no matter what the latency or cpu usage. I'm using AMD turion dual core, vista business, GR3 standalone. I contacted tech support, they told me to retry all the optimizations again, I did, nothing changed, they haven't responded since. Must be an AMD thing.

I've got RK2, the audio Kontrol 1 and a band mate with Session I/O. The last two have the same bits and bobs as the rest of the cards, including the RK3.

    Might be a AMD thing.

    crackles cured

    Hi All,

I've been a bit busy, so just a delayed vindication, it was my network adapter causing the crackling - I disable it and all is fine ( or I use PCI latency tool to control it hogging the bus)

Been having loads of fun driving my MS 20 (VST version unfortunately) with guitar rig.

    cheers

Forgive me for jumping in here...I was looking for this EXACT post as my new rig is also pcrackling and popping. I thought it was static at first. Thanks for letting me know about the network adaptor causing the crackling...now forgive the new GTR3 owner ask the stupid questions here...how do I disable the network adaptor? Easy to do? Easy to enable afterwards?

    cracking fixes

Hi Ian, there can be many problems, my network card problem is pretty rare, I don't know your pc (mac?) specs, assuming they are reasonabley modern, I would guess in order of trouble shooting:
1: increase latency (audio), if that makes some improvements you are on the right track, increase more
    2. disable unneeded programs etc - the NI supplies list of tweaks is a bit severe but forms a good baseline to look for other offenders
    3. Disable network cards by Start, settings, network connections, right click your adaptor and disable or enable
    4. decrease USB latency using latency config utility - free google it- you should know what you are doing here, so not recommeneded for noobs.

after that pray and then contact NI support.

    Cheers Brett
