    +1

Sometimes the obvious needs to be said to remind us to get out there and grind for our craft.

    Respect, indeed.

I guess you have a well paid job but save some money for your retirement, don't spend it all in DJ toys! :D

Thumbs up for OneCrazyDJ, I have a similar setup.

Used to have Xone 4D and Traktor Pro (no timecode sh*t, just usb to the Xone) playing 4 decks (2 main tracks, 3rd for loops, 4th for creepy sounds and voices, I play Minimal Techno).

I bought Maschine and it requires a channel in the mixer if you want to hook it up, so right now I m on 3 decks (2 main tracks and 3rd for creepy stuff, i can loop the tracks I currently play to be honest).

Once you manage to implement Maschine in the system you can forget about decks C and D, unless you want to overkill your tracks (lets be honest, 2 decks in full spin with effects + a groove box are more than enough and no human ear would appreciate anything that's added on top of that).

I'm also trying to go that route. But I can't trust enough right now on the midi syncing of traktor and maschine. I'm really interested in hearing how you sync them?

I followed the same tutorial and everything went well, that's the way i did.

    P.S.
Before buying an additional soundcard I tried with the Midi ports on the Xone 4D but it did not work, and I never found an appropriate answer neither in this Forum nor the A&H one. If anybody managed to sync Maschine and Traktor Pro using the 4D onboard soundcard please drop me a note!

I do. Usually it's 3, but for samples and to move tracks around if I want to scratch with a certain hand , having four is indispensable. I don't mix the full-on track 3 or 4 at a time though, just sparse parts, drums and percussion, breaks, etc. Gotta have breathing room.

No one really just mixes 4 decks together...everyone has this spare deck for samples and basslines and loops.... surley a sample bank could replace this 4th deck and free up some space on the screen for more buttons....yey...!

Four decks with two Faderfox DX2s. Works great with simple effects.

I SOMETIMES use 4 decks, depends on my mood ;)
Most of the time, i mix club/electro tracks and sometimes i do some mashups with a third track. I use the 4th track if i want to play samples but as i've had a surgery, i can use only ONE arm currently so two decks for the moment (it's enough ;) )
I've written 4 decks TSI maps for my gears.

Say if you have a 1 hour set or so do ppl not find it annoying having to wire in the 4 channels from the previous dj and then again at the end?
