I posted the other day but couldnt find my post so I am posting again to say I am still having issues with locating files on my HD.

The majority of my files are located on a WD HD and I have never had too many issues until recently. It seems that everything is messed up now.

I have tried importing all tunes and following the manual but it still doesn't work. It will not locate ANY files and comes up with the flashing red warning at the bottom. My question is more now, if I have all my tunes on my HD, can I wipe everything off Traktor and my laptop and start again so that they are all located?

How come the songs all work on itunes when I have the HD plugged in but not in Traktor? Do they use different files?

I really am a Noob with Traktor so your help is appreciated guys!

Can you tell us the steps at how you are importing your tracks.

    Hi,

    I am using a mac.

It would seem after playing about for hours and importing songs for a while and then unclicking the song folders to use and re clicking them I can access the tunes in the collection folder but not in the Itunes playlist folder?

Is it a case of dragging the songs from one to the other or is it a bit more complicated than that?

    Cheers

    Magpie00,

It sounds like you're moving tracks around and Traktor is losing their location. Ideally, you should consolidate all your tracks into a single iTunes library on your local HD as opposed to an external. Once you've done this, right click on Track Collection and select 'consistency check', then relocate any missing tracks in the iTunes library.

When you want to import new tracks, simply drag them into iTunes into a playlist called 'To Import' or whatever then highlight this in the iTunes section of the browser tree in Traktor and 'import to collection'. Job done. All cue points, beatgrids and metadata will be written by Traktor into the mp3 files in your iTunes collection.

You can then back everything up to an external HD. Job done.

I am having a similar issue. I recently migrated my collection over to a Lacie Rugged HD as I have come up against space on my MACbook Pro, .WAVs...what can you do. No problems using Finder and dropping tracks into Traktor. I've had success using the collection within Traktor but this just started happening and I have only be gun to troubleshoot this issue. There must be a way have Traktor work with my external HD. Why only internal?

I have moved over my iTunes folder to the ext HD, iTunes is working just fine. All my smart playlists are intact. When I go into the smart playlists within Traktor and try to load them into the decks I get a small blip in the deck then nothing. Empty deck.
