hardware always neccessary?

    i have a studio setup in our rehearsal room and a little home setup i use for a lot of editing etc......ive been lugging my sp-404 and edirol controller around for a lot of stuff which im hoping i can do with maschine (and then some.....)......if i get it will i HAVE to use the hardware to use the software/vst...i'll be using it in sonar, i dont want to have to bring the hardware home every day to edit and tweak sessions at home etc.....cheers

    You can use the maschine without the hardware controller, no prob, it doesn't work as a dongle.

    haha, cheers. yeah, im sure it'll be coming home for the first few weeks whilst learning it anyway...might have to buy a second one eventually if its as good as im hoping...
