Have any users recieved their grace period K3 update yet?

    I got an email from NI on the 28th of September saying that K3 hasn't shipped yet, but that I should expect to recieve it within two weeks...

    It's been almost 3 weeks now, has anyone else experienced a similar delay?

    I can tell you that I received my Komplete 5 upgrade(from komplete 4) a couple of days ago here in Canada

    I got mine in Germany. I hoped to get the full set with printed manuals (hate reading long text on screen), but it's fair enough that I got it at all (bought for Summer of Sound price from a shop in September).

    Same here, got a mail from NI Sept 28 saying the K5 update will ship earliest Oct 8 and received it Oct 15 here in Latvia, no printed manuals either.

    Hey yachtfb, where are you located? If you are in the states, how did the package arrive? Was it boxed in the K3 box, or was it non-descript ie just the dvds in an envelope?

    Its been over 3 weeks since I received my approval for the update request. Ive text's them twice now (5 days ago) and now. Still no response! I knew it. I would have rather been proved wrong! But I knew they would still pull the same old poor customer service as usual. Whats even weird about this is I'm in the states while others are over seas and have already gotten theirs. Whats up with that.

    I received my shipping notice today...states a 10 day delivery time..guess I can't complain for a free upgrade.

    NI is a German company, so all of the products are created in Germany. (I assume) U.S. customers will get their products sent to them from NI U.S., but they get their inventory from Germany.

    The shipping notice, is that in addition to their emailed approval of your eligibility and confirmation of recieving an update?

    Well that makes sense now. I thought they were based in the mid west. But just the same 5 days with no response thats just not very cool for a company to have one of the best sounds around.

    I'm starting to get a bit aggravated in this. I know it's a free upgrade, but I would think it would be here by now. Why? Well, when I was first ordering I was ordering the Kontakt 3 crossgrade. I ordered it through Sam Ash online. Well, they didn't HAVE any. So I found a full copy of K2 at my local store for cheap and bought it, then signed up for the free upgrade. Got a fast response to that. I canceled my Sam Ash order.

    Well, they accidentally shipped it anyways. Today, I got my Kontakt 3 crossgrade from Sam Ash. Only thing is, I can't open it and USE it because it's the one that was supposed to be canceled. So I got an address label to send it back.

    So, Sam Ash was able to get more copies AND get it to me, all before I even got a shipping email from NI? I mean, NI obviously COULD have shipped them to me by now if they got to retailers to restock. Surely NI themselves left some stock of their own.

    So I have K3 in my grips, but can't open it because it's going back to Sam Ash tomorrow for a return since it was supposed to be canceled. I am not going to return my already registered K2 to the store obviously, and wouldn't want to even if it was allowed. I just want my K3. They said it would ship two weeks ago almost, even though they were out of stock. It was expected to ship within the week. Not last week, but the week before that.

    But still no word, even when I sent them a support ticket. Nothing. Nada. What's so wrong that they can't answer me?

    I was under the impression that NI would be shipping the update from Germany, so I just assumed customs issues. I'm next to Cali so now I'm even more baffled...

    I am not sure how NI is shipping updates this year. Last year (Komplete 3 to Komplete 4 cycle) NI shipped the updates from Germany, but make a shipping mistake by not shipping them by air.

    They would ship them one of two ways:
    1) Directly from Germany
    2) Ship to NI U.S. (Los Angeles) in bulk, then re-shipped from NI U.S. to individuals.

    Also, last year there seemed to be no rhyme nor reason about the "arrival pattern" of the Komplete 4 updates, even though all shipped from Germany at the same time. We concluded last year that different sections of the U.S. were alot slower with U.S. mail delivery than other sections.


    I suspect NI would distribute product as follows:
    1) ship full retail versions to retail stores
    2) ship upgrade/update versions to retail stores
    3) ship upgrade/update versions to individuals

    From all of the messages posted, NI is shipping out updates and upgrades, so hopefully yours will arrive soon.

    I spoke to NI sales 5 minutes ago and was told that the grace period updates SHOULD be shipping from their warehouse in Northern California this week.

    Should is the token term here...
