I have all my tracks analyzed and stuff, im running a Mac pro with TSP. My hardwares are 2x1200's with ortofon djs and an allen & heath xone 32 mixer. I constantly have to adjust...

I need to adjust some tracks also, but in general, autogain works good for me.
    I use 320 kbs mp3's, m4a and wav files.
Assuming you have selected autogain in preferences.
Maybe the quality of your files differ too much?
    What files do you use?

It's not perfect... definitely not. You will still need to adjust the gain a bit.

Autogain uses a setting it figures out when analyzing a track. Sometimes it doesn't get this setting quite right. You can edit the track and modify the setting.

I use 320 kbs MP3 files and some WAV's as well. Yah I had a feeling autogain was not perfect but eh lol. So is it better to turn it off?.

I use VBR MP3s around 150-300KBPS and I have to adjust my gain too. When I open a recorded mix in a wave editor I see a lot of clipping and a lot of variation in volumes.

Traktor Pro is still better than 2 and 3, though. Those versions used to change the gain of a song while it was in the middle of being played!

It's just one of those questions... nobody can really answer it. I've had better luck with it on when I go back and listen to my mixes. The only thing "auto" I use is the BPM counter... and the grid when I loop. That means there's a lot of work still to do w/ the hands. W/ auto gain, it's just one less thing to deal with.

Ah thanks, I was just asking, and plus im not that lazy lol. The only gripe I got really is that my trim adjustments are so awkward, if anyone with the xone 32 knows lol. I guess I just need to get another mixer with the trims at the right spot lol...

Is there a way to edit the amount of gain (if any) Traktor applies / subtracts from a track? This way, each time the track loads the gain is set to what you have specified?

Open the track for edit in the Traktor browser. Then change the value of the Autogain setting. You'll need to double click the field to make it editable.
