after getting my rig to work with traktor pro 2 i decided to get some practice in, and while i was mixing i noticed sometimes as the mix comes in the track thats comming in sounds like it aquires Deley, Flanger and Echo at the same time, then after souning like **** for 2 mins it resumes to normal sound. i cant find anyhting that has to do with auto effects, and i dont have effects mappedyt so its doing it compleately on its own

any ideas how to fix this?

Firstly, I guess you've aleady checked this but you've made sure the affected channel doesn't have any FX applied to it.

I presume the effects only last whilst the two tracks are playing together and after you've faded out the first track all is well again?

It partly sounds like phasing, which occurs when 2 or more waveforms are overlapped i.e. 2 tracks in the mix, where the frequencies compete for space creating some noise cancellation - a common trick used on vinyl was using two copies of the same track, Sasha used to do it a fair bit in the early 90s. Now we just press a button :) You can help this by using the EQ to knock out say the bottom end on the track coming in and slowly mixing the EQ on both tracks i.e. one in and one out. (hope that makes sense).

Also sounds like the two tracks aren't quite in sync although they are probably beatmatched. You simply need to nudge the incoming track in to sync, after a time you'll be able to determine whether the track is in front or behind quickly using your ears.

    All the best.

well no the effects dont end after the mix.. they continue for about a min and a 1/2 befor subsiding.. otherwise i would agree its just a failed mix. but i will double check what you mentioned

maybe even make a recording if i cant further figure it out
