Alright so here is what I'm running:
    - Macbook pro (around 2008ish)/ 4gb/ Duo processor/ 2.0 USB/ I'm not sure what sound card I have though.
    - Vestax PCV275 mixer
    - 2 Technics tables M2 & M3
    - Traktor scratch pro 2.

I just finished installing traktor and hooking up all of the equipment. When I play a song externally with mixer it has horrible distortion throughout the song but especially in the parts with heavy bass; the quieter parts are somewhat better. I can hear the distortion through my speakers and my headphones. Even when I play the song without using my turntables it has horrible distortion. But when I disconnect my mixer and etc and play internally it sounds normal without any distortion. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

I m having the same problem.

When I play with timecode vynil, I have a distorsion in the medium frequency, when I play internal, it sounds perfect.

    I have Traktor Scratch Pro 2 with audio 8, X1, TTM56 and 2 Turntables

So I found out that I made a stupid mistake with the wiring and had it plugged into the phono slot  So Beegup you may want to check your wiring, and make sure you have it plugged into line.

My wiring is ok because when I play in internal playback, sound quality is perfect.

I only have distorsion when I play in timecode mode.

    Maybe a needle problem ? I have a Shure M44 7, works perfectly with TSP1 !

Could be a grounding issue if it only happens when you've got your mixer plugged in.
