    Welcome =)

What OS? Did you run the installers with the controller unplugged? It needs to be unplugged during the install.

Did the found new hardware wizard start up when you plugged in the controller? If not, you need to reinstall the drivers:

    http://co.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=freeupdates#Maschine_Controller

Once again, don't plug in the controller until the driver install's done.

If the found new hardware wizard comes up, don't let Windows search for an updated driver and let it install the drivers automatically. You'll have this happen two or three times.

    ?

Just what I said. With the first window, choose not this time and in the second window, let Windows install the drivers automatically.

I'm having the same problem. The driver install hangs forever (Win XP). I followed the above directions, plugged in my controller, and let windows install the driver automatically,

    but got an error message:
"The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software".

This is not surprising since the controller Driver setup never completed the installation.

I downloaded the driver separately and installed that, rebooted, and then connected the controller...still no luck.

Any ideas would be helpful. I am going to do an uninstall and reinstall tomorrow morning. It's the only thing else that I can think of.

    Thanks!

NOTE: I was able to solve this myself.

Before I uninstalled, I checked the ADD/Remove programs in WinXP and saw that the controller driver appeared to b installed.

I then connected the controller, and I did NOT let windows search for the drivers. I browsed to the Maschine's install folder on my hard drive and found the drivers in an "inf" folder. I installed the 2 drivers separately, and now it appears to be working properly.

I hope NI gets this sorted out.

I have this problem with both Maschine and KORE2 contollers. Ive been using them both for a couple of weeks without problems and now suddenly neither is recognised by the software. i've uninstalled/reinstalled both with no success and downloaded the drivers separately still with no success. I'm running Vista. I've pointed the installer to the "inf" folder. Anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks ew.

It seems you have to dump the Maschine Controller Editor software as well before reinstalling the Controller drivers as you say. I hadnt thaught of that. Anyway, this seems to have worked - both Controllers are lit up now.

    Thanks again!

Ah- no. What you do have to do is kill NIHardwareService in your processes and use the "safely remove hardware" prompt before unplugging the controller if you're plugged in and running.

ok, same problem here. Installed the 1.51 update from 1.5 (WIN XP SP3) and now can't get the controller working at all. I DID NOT have the controller plugged in during the install. When I did plug it in, it ran through the found new hardware wizard, said device is now installed and working. But when I start up the Contoller Editor it says "The Native Instruments Hardware Controller Support is not running. Please install the lastest update". When I start the Maschine stand alone software, nothing either.. So I did what was suggested above.. Chose Safeley Remove Hardware, uninstalled the drivers... Reinstalled the drivers, plugged controller back in.. went through the whole above process again and same thing... It shows up in Device Manager (2.015.7)

EDIT: Got it to work by Uninstalling the Controller Editor Version 1.2.5.409 that came as part of the 1.5.1 update ang going back to 1.2.1.373 that is on the NI Update page.
