Having trouble assigning midi to Guitar Rig

I'm using a Behringer FCB1010 connected to both Midi in/out on my Motu 8Pre, which is also taking my incoming audio signal. The 8Pre is connected to my Macbook Pro via firewire. I'm running OS 10.10.5 and Logic 10.2.4.

I have the incoming audio (Input 3) going to a clean track within Logic. I also have an instrument track set up with Guitar Rig as the instrument and the output to Bus 1. The side chain within Guitar Rig takes signal from the incoming audio (Input 3). Bus 1 is my audio aux channel to record the wet signal.

One thread I saw on Logic's forum suggested going into the environment view, under the clicks & ports layer, and adding a monitor routed to the midi channel and input view. I guess this allows Guitar Rig to receive midi regardless of whether or not the track is record-enabled, but I know very little about working in the environment view to understand this. I will say that when I press buttons and use the expression pedal on the FCB1010, I can see digital data being registered on the monitor (although it's not getting anything from the 2nd expression pedal...).

I've also downloaded (the demo for now) a 3rd party software called iFCB, from Wabbit Wanch, that allows you to customize the values for the FCB midi signals, like control change values, min/max signal amounts from 0-127, presets, etc. This helped with assigning the required values for the triggers within the Logic key commands. I've read that some of the FCB1010s ship with the factory preset assigning a value range of 0-1 for the 2nd expression pedal, which can cause it to appear unresponsive, and I think I can fix that with iFCB, but I haven't gotten there yet.

So with all that said, here's where I'm stuck. I have successfully mapped 5 of the buttons to regular Logic functions (play/stop/record/etc.), and one of the expression pedals to a wah filter within Guitar Rig. But I can't seem to map any of the buttons to anything in Guitar Rig. I'd like 5 buttons to be able to engage/bypass 5 different filters or presets, but nothing is registering when I tell it to learn and press a button on the FCB1010. I've tried changing the CC (Control Change) values to match the RK (Rig Kontrol) values from what I've read elsewhere online, but that didn't work. Anyone see anything I'm missing?
