Headphones not working with BCD3000!

Just got my BCD3000 yesterday connected it up to my ibook and playing the sound directly out of the internal laptop speakers , everything is good traktor is perfect and the quality and all buttons are great but my headphones dont work. is it because i have to have speakers connected into the master out in the back of the console for the headphones to work or what. Any advice is appreciated.

 

Isn't there a quickstart or something that told you install the BCD3k's ASIO drivers and set the soundcard and routing preferences properly?

 

not to my knowledge, so do i have to change the routing settings on the traktor program. does it matter if i have speakers plugged into the back of the bcd3000 console.

 

This does not matter... connect the master out to out 1 and 2, the monitor to 3 and 4, but choose the aggregated device which is automatically created.

where do i find that?

 

in the preferences of Traktor, where you choose the soundcard...

 

driver that i chose is built in audio and there is only bulit in audio 1 and 2 no 3 and 4. only with bcd3000 driver has 1,2,3,4 but the sound doesnt come out when i chose bcd3000 as the driver.

 

What laptop do you have, a macbook?

 

yeah i got a laptop mac.
soundcard - built in audio
routing - built audio 1, built in audio 2 (only options no 3,4)

ive tried different combos
and when i pick bcd3000 as the soundcard it doesnt work.

could you tell me all your settings on tracktor prefrences?
do you have speakers plugged into the back (master out)?

 

There should be 2 times BCD3000 choosable as soundcard, take the lower one which represents the outputs. If you need inputs AND outputs create an aggregated device first and choose this one as soundcard.

i reinstalled traktor le and it came up with
-BCD3000 (aggregated device) in the soundcard options but then the bcd3000 wouldnt work, pressed every button and it didnt respond.

but then

i chose built in audio and the sound and BCD3000 worked again

and the progress that was made was

when i then chose BCD3000 in the sound card option the headphones worked but not the speakers on my laptop so at this point its one thing or the other

but what im seeing is that

In built audio choosen as the sound card its the channels 1 and 2 choosen in master out making the sound and BCD3000 as the sound card choosen in channels 3 and 4 for monitor making the sound in the headphones.

the problem

pick one soundcard you only get the options for those

what i guess i want it

Master Out (Laptop speakers)
Built in audio 1
Built in audio 2

Monitor (headphones)
BCD 3000 3
BCD 3000 4

but if you chose either soundcard you cant get the other options
i.e i chose bulit in audio all i get is built in audio 1 and built in audio 2 as the options.

is there a way to get both?

After choosing BD3000 (aggregated) did you do the input and output routing? Or choose the aggregated device BCD3000, close and reopen the program, then the inputs and outputs should automatically be routed to the BCD3000's ins and outs.

i dont know how i did it but i got the sound to play off

Soundcard: BCD3000 (agregated)

Master: BCD 3000 1,2
Monitor 3,4

little problem but, still cant hear **** out of headphones

 

Press CUE1 or CUE2 and turn the "Phones Mix" button a bit... ;-)

bcd3000 agregate soundcard
-plays the headphones but no sound is coming out of laptop

and as you can guess

built in audio
-plays laptop sound but no headphones

(i dont know why the laptop doesnt recognise the settings when they first open up).

im so confused, im so sorry this must be tedious for you now.

 

Use only one of the soundcards... why you wanna use both?

 

I have tractor le and have lost the original output settings ....i only have 1 and 2 options can you tell me how the default settings once were! ........frustrated

One soundcard plays the sound out of the laptop (Built in audio) and the other soundcard plays the headphones (BCD3000), i cant get both in one soundcard it seems to be one thing or the other. maybe its something to do with settings in midi audio setup in utilities folder.

If i pick builtinaudio i get sound but nothing out of headphones
If i pick BCD3000 i get headphones sound but nothing out of the laptop.
