Headphones + SB Live! how do I pre-listen?

I have spent the better part of an hour trying to get this to work. I just set up Traktor and after quite a while I figured out how to get two of the outputs on the back of my soundcard to work at the same time. I plugged my powered multimedia speakers into one output and my headphones into into the other. Then I installed the Soundblaster drivers from Creative. After setting my soundcard to 4.1 I was able to get my headphones set as the left and right front channels and the speakers as the left and right rear channels. So now I have 4 channels with my headphones and speakers but I can't get Traktor to use those 4 channels to let me pre-listen to a seperate track in my headphones. When I go into the audio settings for Traktor I see the following:


1. Master Left (mono)
2. Master Right
3. Headphones Left (mono)
4. Headphones Right

Each of those settings has a drop-down box with the following choices:

-not connected-
0S SB Live! Audio [A000]
1S SB Live! Audio [A000]
2S SB Live! Audio [A000]
3S SB Live! Audio [A000]

I've tried every combination of those settings and no matter what the speakers always play one deck on the left speakers and one deck on the right speakers. Isn't there a way for me to get Traktor to play one deck on the front speakers (the headphones) and one deck on the rear speakers (the desktop speakers)?

 

i used to have an sb extigy and set it up like this.in creative set up select 4 speakers ,then in traktor set front as master and rear as monitor.headphones in rear and speakers in front out.

 

Dicky you may be running your card correctly if you get different sound in the headphones and speakers. Maybe you havent't figured out how to use the cueing buttons and cue volume / mix controls yet.. Those controls are a little different for 2.53 / 2.6.

 

I have the SB Live 5.1 CT4870. Prelistenig in headphoes work fine for me, but only after I Have uninstal the original Creative drivers and install the KX driver with asio suport. (www.kxproject.com). U can find in the traktor 253 forum many posts how set up the channels for prelistening in Traktor with kx drivers. If still need help pls. be free to ask for help. People on this forum helped me to too, because at this I was a newcommer.
