    hi all!

i'm normally very technologically inclined - i can't figure out how to make this work at all

i've read both manuals and i've been playing with this for HOURS

i just bought the behringer ddm4000 and traktor scratch pro

i cannot for the life of me get my behringer to act as a midi controller -

    i downloaded this midi map
    http://www.thebreakdown.co.uk/2008/11/30/midi-treasure-maps-dug-up-for-traktor/

i have the behringer hooked up to my computer via a m-audio midisport. i downloaded midi-ox to make sure that the computer is receiving midi data (it is)

all i want is to be able to use this preset midi map or ANY midi map so i can control traktor. NOTHING works.

    someone please help
    i'm losing my freaking mind

    please!
    ---
is there like a walkthrough guide?
i am basically just looking for the volume faders and eq's to work initially -
    but they are totally unresponsive

i think i'm going insane! i'm not sure why this is so difficult

Have u set the Midi In/Outports on the correct Value?
U will find that on the right side by selecting the Mapping Device

    Hi,

Why do you use the m-audio midiport fort connecting the DDM4000 to your Traktor Scratch Pro?
    Just connect it directly!
The select the rights Ports for input and (if you need) output.

P.S. what version of Traktor Scratch Pro did you install?

    hi dj maggi -
    thanks for helping me out

    the "right side" of what?
    select mapping device on what?
    ---

there is no direct connections from the ddm4000 -
there are midi in/out/thru ports, and rcas

my soundcard is actually (sadly) an onboard soundcard - but i use reason and ableton and haven't had any problems

i have seen that many people on the internet use this usb to midi cable by m-audio for the behringer ddm4000
    ---
    i have traktor 1.2.7.

okay - have made slight progress

now the channel 1 and 4 volume faders control the dry/wet knob for effects - i want them to control the volume on channel 1 and 4 for timecoded vinyl or internal mixing - and the EQ knobs to eq.

i want to leave 2 and 3 for normal technics turntable real vinyl control
    ---
actually this may have something to do with output routing?

i have external mixing selected -

currently i can only get music to play coming out of my soundcard to my computer speakers -

eventually im going to move this setup to my living room - 2 technics 1200s, the behringer ddm4000, a laptop with traktor scratch pro, and a receiver. i'll probably send the audio out of the s/pdif coaxial digital output to the receiver.

what i was talking about why use another USB-Midi device if you already have Midi-Ports on your Audio 8 DJ?

oh i was told that if you have a traktor certified mixer - you don't need to hook up to the audio 8 dj

you just go direct from mixer to computer?

    i'm still a bit confused -

so most people on there internet post options like this-

the time coded vinyl will be channels 2 and 3
channel 1 and 4 on the behringer are just for FX control?

what if i just want to play straight vinyl - what channels would those be?

this is all very strange -

i think it might just pay off to figure out what works best for me ... correct?

also - currently i'm only hearing sound out of the speakers from the computer sound card -

what do i have to do once i will be playing sound out of the mixer output?

Select the Audio8 in the prefences
Make the Output Routing (external Mixer Mode)
Connect the Audio8 with cables (multicore cables) to the Mixer. (Read the Manual)

When u play normal Vinyl switch the Mixer Channel from Line to phono and than it would be play straight to the mixer.

There are different Mappings for the DDM4000...some make the 4 Deck control...some 2 Decks with FX Units and so on....so find or search for a mapping who makes sences to ur setup and ur wishs to the functions!
