    Hello,

I searched high and low for an answer to my question but couldn't find any info. My apologies if this has been asked a million times.

I recently bought a Maschine MK3 and I want to hook up my AT-LP120-USB to it for sampling. What all would I need? I've searched everywhere but could not find any new info to guide me. I want to sample directly into the MK3. Would I need a audio interface? I know my turntable already has a preamp built into it.

I have a Sony receiver which has two Pioneer DJ speakers and my AT-LP120-USB connected to it. My MK3 is connected to my Windows 10 laptop already. To my knowledge, my turntable already has a preamp. Would I still need an audio interface? I want to be able to sample my vinyl collection using the MK3 but still being able to use my receiver and turntable to listen to my records.

What else would I need to buy in order to connect everything together. Please excuse my naivete.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Be well.

what's up danthers I was searching for an answer to this same question. I do see this post was a year ago so I'm hoping you figured it out by now as I just did by going rca out of the 120 to 1/4 in directly into the line inputs on mk3 and had to crank the gain all the way up. Maschine settings have to be on mk3 for the audio for it to pick it up.

Your TT has a built in phono preamp, which means it can do line level output. Connect your line level output to the line level inputs of the mk3, make sure to turn monitoring on so you can hear the incoming sound, and get sampling ;)

The Line output of the AT gives 150mV peak.
To get a 0DBv signal in the sampler of the MK3 you need 6000 mV = 6V peak.
A good way is to use the normalization option. If you want to have that 6V from the AT, you must use a (pre) amp.
But you will not find this anywhere as a ready-made product.
This is because of the extreme amplification factor.
So I designed a (pre) amp a year ago, and you can find it here.

Keep in mind that due to the extremely high gain, any interference signals will also be considerably amplified.

I have a similar turntable. Here are some specific instructions others may have left out:

For some AT turntables (like mine), there's a 1/8" jack in the back. And a switch "Line/Phono". Other AT turntables (and most turntables) have RCA outputs (white/red). Yours is RCA.

Set the switch to Line, then connect the cable below. Plug the 1/4" ends into the Line Inputs of your Maschine MK3. Go into Sampling Mode and make sure your sampling source is set properly (monitoring on, so you can hear what you sample while you sample). That should help!
