I need help with updating a couple of my Komplete products. I recently tried to update my FM8 and this is what the message says -

The source installation package for the product NI FM8 is out of Sync with the client package. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package FM8 setup.PCI.MSI'.

It also came up with another message as well

Unable to uninstall old version of FM8. Please uninstall it yourself using control panel.

Now I looked in control panel and it's not showing in there. The other problem is I don't even understand what the top message is telling me. I looked for the FM8 setup.PCI.MSI'. file in my NI folders and I couldn't find anything. So please if someone can help me please do.

I think what sucks is that NI doesn't support us with a real person to help us. Were spending Good $$$ on their products and they can't even employ a couple people to help us.

Hey man, I know the pain. Just got through this. Download the Microsoft Fixit tool @ https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/mats/program_install_and_uninstall?wa=wsignin1.0 _____From here, select "Detect problems and apply the fixes for me", then select "Uninstalling". Then scroll down to find FM8, it will remove it for you. This usually works for all the problem applications so save the link! If you were unlucky as me today, FM8 did not show up when you attempted to do this. In this scenario, try to reinstall from the original Komplete disk. If you still get an error regarding ".MSI file missing", the only thing that worked for me was reinstalling Komplete...completely. Find "Komplete 9, 10, etc" among this list in the Fix-It tool and uninstall. Then you should be able to install from your original disk. It may still give you errors when reinstalling, but should still install regardless. I should know...this was what I did for the last 5 hours.

And I agree.....the NI support people sometimes give you the most basic fix, like "find it in Programs and Utilities"....even after you just explained that the issue is a bit deeper than that. Let me know how it goes...
