Help! Just bought Traktor Pro instead of Traktor Scratch

Howdy!! Trying to get back into music after a few years away. I have had Traktor Scratch Pro for years, along with an Audio 10 soundcard, and bought some new Timecode vinyls in a local DJ shop in Dublin, only to realise they weren't compatible with Traktor 1. So I decided to upgrade last night to Traktor 2. I paid the $99 and downloaded the files. Installed it, and spent ages trying to get the vinyls to work, only to realise I had got the wrong version. I've emailed NI Support but haven't heard anything yet. I noticed I could buy Traktor Scratch Pro 2 for the same price as Traktor Pro 2 on the website, and they send out the vinyls/cd's (which I don't need as I bought the vinyls in a local shop). Can anyone help me here, will they allow me to swap the product? At this stage, all I need is different software, which has the Timecode element built in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm wondering if I bought it, would a link appear in my downloads while they ship the timecode vinyls/cd's?

 

If you can buy Traktor Scratch Pro 2 for the same price as Traktor Pro 2 on the website, then 'hopefully' NI can email you a new serial number for scratch pro and delete your Pro 2 serial? If they did that, you can just enter the serial into Native Access, and it would unlock the scratch part for you.

NI support will 'hopefully' sort this out for you when they get time

 

Thanks for getting back man. I got impatient waiting for a reply from them, so I decided to pay another $99 thinking I would get sent a new download link / serial or it would show in Native Access..... but nope!! So I'm $200 down and have no Scratch licence. Was dying to have a mix this weekend! I guess I'll have to wait til they post it out.

I'd spend your time learning the software more in the meantime, or sorting tracks etc, you can still have fun without vinyl control for now (although I love it myself)

I hope NI sort this out for you soon. I'm sure they will eventually.

Still no joy unfortunately. Been refreshing that serial page since yesterday. Have the library all sorted as I was using it for years until a baby came along and put things on hold for a few years

I also upgraded Traktor Scratch Pro from what 6 years ago? but I didn't stop. anyways, if I'm not wrong, Traktor merged everything to one software and I'm pretty sure you can use the old serial into the Traktor Demo software and then it will unlock the Scratch feature and the Software title will be changed to Traktor Scratch Pro. since then I never had to buy the software ever again because old serial just works. so I have like 5 Traktor serials from other equipment purchasing it just seating somewhere in my house that hasn't been activated because I never needed to.

 

When you buy TSP 2 with timecode vinyl/ CD's, it will come in a package being mailed to you by UPS. Everything will be in the box. I did the same mistake myself and bought TP 2 not TSP 2.

 

Were you able to get a refund on TP2?

 

I didn't even bother......I told myself, I may need it in the future. At the end of the day, it was a good investment.

 

But once you have Traktor Scratch Pro 2, you have all the same features as Traktor Pro 2, no? So you'd never need to have Traktor Pro 2?

 

Yes. It is the same exact program, but with the option to use timecode.
