Help me setup f1 ableton

i have been trying to setup my Kontrol F1 with ableton all week and havent figured it out yet. it would be great if someone could explain what i have to do to get it working (what i have to download) (what my preferences should be) literally everything it would be of great help. thanks

what do i do after thats installed

 

Also is there anyway to set it up with out the software install? i bought this used and the serial number dont work any more

 

If 'without software install' means without the Control Surface Script, try to do the MIDI mapping manually as shown in the second link I posted: https://support.native-instruments....Device-as-a-MIDI-Controller-with-Ableton-Live

The two links in my first post are two different approaches - either trying to set up the F1 as Control Surface (first link in post #2) or as generic MIDI Controller (second link in post #2). If you are talking about the F1 itself: you can download the Controller Editor (Installer + Manual) and Windows drivers here: https://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/downloads/drivers-other-files/

 

Basically - if the Control Script works - certain controls, etc. in Ableton Live are pre-mapped to buttons, knobs, etc. on the F1 - as mentioned in the Mappings sections: https://github.com/trash80/AbletonTraktorKontrolF1
