Help setting up S4 with technics turntables

Hi all, just got round to trying to incorporate my Technics 1200's in my s4 set up. Not using time codes, just to play true vinyl. Can someone help me with how I need to configure my settings in pro 2? I've mucked the lot up in doing so, losing my fx on all 4 decks. I can hear the turntables in channel c and d, but fader doesn't work. It's all gone massively wrong. Not using any external sound card.

 

S4 is not a mixer, so don´t waste your time.

Use Timecode vinyls.

 

I thought it was possible, one of the main reasons for me getting the S4 over the S2

 

It is possible, it's exactly what I do. Delaney is correct though to some extent, the S4 is not a mixer and requires Traktor to be running.

You need to make sure decks C & D are set to phono on the back of the S4 and also ensure in Traktor C & D are set to Live Input. Unfortunately the S4 isn't particularly great with regard to input levels in phono terms, so you may need to really ramp up the gain on ch's C & D to get parity with digital decks A & B - although it's not just the S4 that can cause the volume discrepancy, vinyl output, age of the tracks (in terms of the loudness wars etc compared to current digital releases) etc etc all have a bearing, but using the gain controls are your friends
