    ey guys,

Probably very stupid question... but I just installed my TSP2 upgrade. Everything seemed to run ok. I was previously TSP with my timecode setup and a single Kontrol X1...

However, when I turn on Traktor 2, it doesn't seem to recognise my Kontrol X1. i.e: the lights don't turn on, it doesn't respond, etc., etc... I re-installed the drivers (2.9.4) and no joy... The X1 seems to be ok, when I plug it into the PC it does it's flashy lightup display, and windows recognises it...

Probably a box I've unticked or something, but wading through all the options seems to be a bit daunting. Appreciate any help at all on the matter!

    Cheers,
    -A

    No ideas anybody?

Might it have something to do when I installed Traktor 2 it asked if I had an X1 and I said Yes? It installed new drivers then? Possibly driver conflict? Should I just uninstall everything (traktor 2, hardware controller and x1 drivers) and reinstall?

    Same problem

    Hi Adam,

Got my T2 download yesterday and after install it killed my Maschine and X1 controllers, have tried the same as you, but no joy, they are dead to Traktor 2, but still light up etc. when my laptop is switched on. Really pi$$ed off that this has happened. Cheers.

    Garry.

    Exactomondo!

I'm currently uninstalling Maschine, X1 and T2. Will reinstall T2 followed by the controllers to see if that works, if not then NI will have to help us out unless someone has got a better idea. "I've got a bad feeling about this" he he.

Fixed - at least in part

Guys, spent this afternoon uninstalling T2 and then reinstalling T2, followed by the X1. That seemed to do the trick and it's working no probs.

Still waiting for the install of Maschine to complete however it now has all the proper lights etc. so all looks good there too.

    So to summarise:

    1. Uninstall T2 from Add/Remove programs
    2. Uninstall X1 and/or Maschine from Add/Remove programs
    3. Install T2
    4. Install X1 and/or Maschine.

Hope that works, what a flaff, surely NI should have know this was going to happen!

    Anyway, have fun :D

I'm up and running too, simple reinstall of the Controller editor fixed mine... Although you still have to setup the mapping before it'll do anything.

Not too sure how I feel about the setup yet, It's my first digital DJ setup and coming from 2x CDJ1000's for the past 10 years I think it's gonna be a hard transition.

I can't get my head around the cue points... the 'CUP' button seems to just throw me into the middle of the track and the 'CUE' button I can't seem to set myself, It' just picks the first sound... which isn't always the first beat.

You do have Traktor 1 installed ? Then, export the mapping and import it in Traktor 2.

I just uninstalled tsp2, controller editter and all the hardware drivers and re-installed. Works okay so far.

@derfdj, you need to set the que point to the first beat in the track. So set your mouse type to snap, click on the first beat you want to que on, and then go into the advanced panel and set a que point there (click on any number), and set that que point to LOAD... every time you load the track and try and que it up with the X1 it'll start there.

Not much use if you're using CDJ's like me tho! :(

I plugged my X1 in after installing TSP2 and, after none of the presets I'd mapped seemed to work, I restored it in the X1 section of the preferences, only for it to now not be working at all!

Some of the buttons are lit but most are just dead - it's the same when I load up Traktor 1 now aswell.

Any ideas how to get it working? I don't really want to reinstall TSP2, I've just spent the past couple of days sorting out the mess that made of my existing track collection...

I have uninstalled and reinstalled TP2 three times now (and rebooted my PC many times in between) and I am not getting the X1 to work. I have also tried different USB cables, and checked if my USB2 ports are working at full speed.

    Here are the symptoms:
    * X1 lights light up the first time and then nothing.
    * X1 doesn't show up in the Controller Editor.

Any tips other than re-installing TP2? Is there a specific order I should take steps after reinstalling TP2?

My configuration: Dell XPS M1530, Windows 7, Traktor Pro, Traktor Pro 2, Audio 4 DJ, Traktor Kontrol X1, Vestax VCI-100 SE

I am having an issue too, unlike most I have the X1 working fine with TP2, full functionality but bizarrely the lights stay on at all times even though i have lowered the illumination to zero for buttons off

Anyone any suggestions to fix this, any help would be appreciated

Try just uninstalling all your drivers - X1, Audio8/10/whatever, controller editor... then reinstall the rest... But frankly, I think it's easier to uninstall TSP2 at the same time and re-install everything from fresh.

Also, it's worded badly in the install setup - it say's it's mandatory to pick a Traktor 2 certified hardware, so you must pick the Audio 10 driver if you're new to traktor scratch pro 2... But you don't actually have to pick this, and in reality we're ALL new to traktor scratch pro 2... Just skip that page and install your audio8 drivers again (or whatever you have, after uninstalling the drivers ofcourse)

I had some problems with the cue buttons for deck a/b, when i was pushing them what it did was switching form internal playback to scratch mode...odd..Anyhow, I removed all the NI related files, Traktor, audio drivers, everything and did a clean reintall of TSP2 with x1. Works fine now.

I've just bought TP2 and had the same issue. I allowed the TP2 install to install the X1 driver (i knew it was on, just did it in case it was a new version), X1 lights up when plugged in but dead on load.

    Fixed issue by-

Opened the service centre, downloaded latest X1 driver
    Disconnected X1
    Ran the driver install
Plugged back in and opened traktor
    Worked!

    not ideal

    Setup-
    Win7 32bit, X1, Audio Kontrol 1, TP2
