    Hi guys,
I am an active Traktor (Pro 2) user and I know how to set beat grids and so on.

I have a problem when I try to use Traktor with 6/8 beat music. I have started to DJ some Persian songs (Iranian) and most of the Persian music is 6/8 beats.

When I try to sync two tracks that are close in BPM, it is impossible at times. One of the tracks gets waaaay too fast or slow. I have analyzed some in MIK as well to double check my BPM and I am not off.

I really don't want to move to timecode as I own a DJM 2000 which would mean I would have to add an external sound card to achieve this so I really want to figure this out.

Can anyone who is knowledgeable enough help me?
If need be, I can also provide 2 tracks for you to test out. I am running 2.5 and have not updated but this has always been an issue. The standard House, Pop, Trance style tracks on 4 beats work fine when using sync.

Here is an example of the beat that majority of Persian dance songs are in:

    Thanks in advance,

Should not be any problem... but you will have to set the bpm of each track individually by tapping it as if it is a 4 beat track. If you can't figure it out inbox me a couple of tracks via dropbox and I'll show you what I mean. Preferably some tracks with a steady 6/8 beat.

The other solution is mix by ear and turn off sync.

Hi and thanks for the reply.

I didn't try tapping but I'll give it a shot and let you know.

I can beat match fine but was hoping not to use time code and stick to my X1 (as I don't have a CDJ that I can use as a controller, and not ideal to use X1 to manually beat match).

I will try your suggestion and get back to you.

    Cheers,

    agreed.

am persian dj i use to use serato and mix by ears.
but with traktor you can tap the beats and if you do it for 2 bars you are will almost 98% sure to get right bpm. some time traktor can't read the spaces between the beats becuase of the quarter notes and all that.

tap it... and then sometime you have to drop the first beat marker manually. and after when you heat auto... it lines up all the markers in right place (unless it's a beat played on drums with no steady tempo)

I am of no help here but I like posts like this. Helps widen my knowledge.
I am just learning the different beat patterns well and becoming able to hear and identify them. It is so easy to just stick to a standard 4/4 but listen to your track helped.

    Thanks
