    Hi Gang

    I apologize if this is such a dumb question..but here it goes

    I have finally migrated from DjPRO ( Mac) software and i cant seem to find how to get this function to work.

    I have set my outputs correctly in tracktor and I am getting the decks routed to my headphones. The issue is when i crossfade from one deck to another my cue icon stays on and i hear both tracks.

    In my old djpro program, as soon as i crossfade from one deck to another, my cue is AUTOMATICALLY TURNED OFF and IT SWITCHES to the other deck for pre listen.

    How can I make that happen with my setup

    I’m not aware of any way to map the crossfader in a way that will do what you want… I suggest you simply use the “Listen” buttons the MK4 has for that.

    Not a standard feature (I personally tend to want to manually control the Monitor mix rather than having the software do it for me), but you could achieve this with some Modifiers and supplemental mapping.

    Obviously, it would be a bit complicated to explain on the forum, and since you've just started using Traktor, it would probably sound like foreign language to you anyway. I would recommend reading the Traktor User Manual reagardin MIDI configuration and mapping to give you an idea of how things work, and then maybe we could look into trying things out.

    Wait, that’s not obvious!

    I am not really a newcomer to Traktor’s mapping (I have custom-mapped more than one console for my personal style of DJing so I’m pretty confident around this topic) but I don’t really see how you could use Traktor’s mapping to achieve the desired effect. As I would be interested in mapping different things that kind of behave the same way I would appreciate it if you could give me a hint how to use modifiers and supplemental mapping to do what djplomusic asks for. :)

    I'd have to sit with it and experiment, but when you think about it, it is only a matter of turning off LED and Activating/Disabling a function when reaching a certain point with the crossfader. Of course, actually doing it might require a few lines of mapping...

    In regards to learning the ropes with using Modifiers, I may not be the best to give explanation, so I would suggest:

    - Starting the user manual (which is pretty detailed);

    - Then reading these two articles by DJ Techtools:

    http://djtechtools.com/2008/12/22/get-more-controlls/

    http://djtechtools.com/2014/05/11/midi-mapping-101-the-traktor-modifier-re-explained/

    - And if you are really interested and dedicated to making mappings, get you hands on the Traktor Bible:

    Well, those lines are exactly what I’m interested in.

    One thing I can come up with from the top of my head:
    • Map a modifier to a fader; change the values for sensitivity so that on one end you get the 7 as value for the modifier.
    • Map the cue function to the fader, with a condititional for the modifier.
    However, this is very ugly and depends on Traktor always using the same internal values and threshold for a fader (which is usually a 14-bit value); it could conceivably happen that all of a sudden your modifier will not be 7 anymore because some MIDI data were dropped…

    So, if you have anything more elegant to suggest, please do so! :)

    Well I managed to find a little time to play around and looks like I managed to do it, although you'll have to test it for me as I don't have an MK4 at hand right now.

    - Unzip the file;
    - In Controller Manager, under Device Setup, go to Add...> Import TSI > Import Other... and load the file TP_MK4_As_DJPro_1.tsi
    - Once loaded, make sure to assign In-Port and Out-Port to the MK4 in order for this to work.

    Note that only the crossfader and the two headphone Cue buttons are mapped so you'll need to use your mouse to load songs and start them.

    The mapping does what you wanted. When moving the crossfader, it will automatically switch headphone preview to the opposite deck. Just make sure the Mix knob on the Traktor interface is set to Cue (Left) position (thinking of it now, I could add something to insure that but let's try this first).

    You can still manually turn the Cue On and Off using the buttons, but moving the crossfader overrides that.

    Here's how I did it :

    That looks pretty much like what I’ve described, now, doesn’t it?

    What we both described actually. Now let's see if it works as expected for @djplomusic
