    Hey guys

I have some really weird pitch control settings. Basically what's going on is that sometimes when I move my pitch bar up the tempo goes down and sometimes when I move the pitch bar down the tempo goes up.

Here's what happens exactly. When I move the pitch bar down for example the tempo goes down but lets say i moved it down too far so I decide to move it back up, when I start to move it back up the pitch CONTINUES to go back down. This is VERY frustrating and I don't know how to fix it. Any help? Thanks.

Are you using the MIDI profile available from Hercules or did you make your own ?

    Hi Goonzy,

    It's on both pitch faders

And Hey Phatso, I used the MIDI profiles I downloaded from the Hercules website, I did not make my own.

It reminds me of something I saw before...

Could you try the following procedure:

    http://ts.hercules.com/faqs/eng/her_eng_00353.pdf

Basically, what I want you to check is if the fader actually sends all the value it should. Normally, it should send value 0 at one end uo to 127 at the other.

I remember seeing a controller once where a fader was not correctly calibrated. The supposedly minimum value was reached at about 1/4 of its course. If it was moved futher, it was looping and sending the values that should have been at the other end.

Alright I'll give that a try and get back to you and see if it's fixed, thanks :)

EDIT: When it asks me to press a button under column data data 2 nothing shows up in MIDI monitor. It's just completely blank, no values, or anything.

You made sure the Rmx is set as MIDI Input , and seen as OPEN, right ?

How about if you move any of the other controls (faders , knobs) ?

    Ok....

    Let's try something else then.

In Traktor, go to the MIDI Mapping section of the Preferences.

    - In the list, under Controls, find TEMPO. You should have 2, assigned to CC49 and CC59

    - Highlight the first one, then under MIDI learn, click the Learn button.

    - Move your pitch fader, from one end to the other 3 or 4 times.

    - Disable the learn mode and look at the main interface, while moving the fader again.

    Is the problem still present?

i had that file and tried to use it but it doesn't work like is supposed to some of the buttons are working good not all of them for example the wheels they don't make that scratch sound, i have to press the STOP button to use it for a sec that's it, i can't assign the effects to any of the buttons either, it's all a mess it does not work like the virtual dj that came with it, the virtual dj is fine but it looks and feels CHEAPY traktor pro i like it a lot and i want to use it, and since im new to all this dj'ing thing i hope you can help me out a little bit with it. and if you think that i can use another software that might work better with my RMX just let me know so i can use it, but i like a software with lots of effects, thanks again and sorry for all the trouble..

Phatso thank you for your help! Once I went into the controls I realized I didn't have 'invert' checked. I can't believe it was something as simple as that. Thanks to all who helped, much appreciated!

No software function exactly the same way, so you will have to be a little flexible and use thern for what they can do and find the one that works best for your needs.

It is possible to to use the jog wheels only for scratching, but you will have to modify the MIDI profile concequently, as the current configuration was made to provide a general usage to most users.

As for the FX, they also work differently in Traktor, and the profile gives access to 2 sets of 3 FX (Chained). You can select your FX from the top of the Traktor Window.

I would suggest reading through the user manual to get an idea of the possibilities of Traktror, as well to learns the basics of the MIDI mapping to configure the console to your needs. If your needs more advanced notions in MIDI configurations, you should also check this site:
