Okay, I'm kind of irritated the 20+ post requirement for voting in the Beat Battle has been implemented as an "anti-cheat" rule.

I am a product owner (Komplete 10 + Maschine). I am usually fully capable of figuring things out on my own, and have never seen the need to populate a discussion with more noise than signal. I spend more time writing and playing music than I do whining on forums. Requiring people to contribute to the dull morass of speculation and worry who would otherwise spend their time researching and composing is nonsensical.

Obviously, you had other means of confirming whether or not someone was a product owner prior to this, and your new implementation only serves to contribute to the noise. I suppose it serves to keep the forum active, but it decreases utility. I compare the situation to that of requiring voter ID, which was already the case with regard to product ownership, coupled with a minimum participation filter. What's to stop a fraudulent voter from filling the forum with more noise merely to meet the requirement?

On top of that, my dog is dying. I care more about that dog than any of this nonsense.

EDIT: Bad spelling? Perhaps in the deleted Deutsch, but nothing is wrong with my English. Go ahead, make some more arbitrary calls. Change more stuff during contests. Your call. I have no respect or regard for Wikipedia citing emoticon-using dullards with poor reading comprehension.

Sorry to hear about your dog, and lol at your title post; at least you kept your sense of humour. I do appreciate where you're coming from. If you'd like an easy post to help you meet the quota, feel free to '+1' here:

What breed of dog is it?

(Hint if it is a cross breed only tell half the story, can probably make another six posts about this).

    Hi @TheAbominableDrVibes ,

I chose to implement this rule because there was some confusion over the 'Product Owner' categorization. I personally believe that 20 posts is easily achieved but I can understand where you are coming from. You should not be forced to contribute to the 'noise', as you put it, just for your vote to count. Maybe in the future we can put it down to 10 posts. This is a community competition after all, so contributing to this community is definitely encouraged.

The language you use in your last sentence will get you banned though. Regarding the circumstances I'll close my eyes on this one but I won't the next time.

    Cheers,
    Jonas

Hi Jonas, can you please give us some hope in the tunnel for fellow members for Machine development ? there are lots of pessimistic posts that are endless and never ending. For myself i have no doubt and holding on for the process but maybe , a reply saying we definitely have plans for Maschine , exciting stuff in future cant comment more etc , just to keep the pulse , am sure wont hurt your marketing strategy ; ) I apologize as i know its not the right thread but seeing you active thought i reach out. keep up the good work guys and from Dubai fans thanks for the great products ! Am enjoying every plugin top class.

Maschine is definitely not dead in the water. As you already guessed I cannot comment on anything specific. We read all the feedback and are very aware of how the Maschine community feels here, on socials and on other boards. Keir and I are working hard on changing that, but we do not want to promise things that we cannot deliver. Therefore, all I can ask of you right now is more patience even though that might not be what you would have liked to hear.

Better than nothing though, thanks @Jonas @ NI!

This is how it should be. @TheAbominableDrVibes, just drop in from time to time and help someone out with technical assistance when you can. No need to get caught up in the nonsense that goes on around here. Maybe post some of your work in the 'Made With Maschine' sub or, given your music theory background, offer some constructive criticism to others who lack that education.

On the other hand, perhaps having participated in a previous battle should automatically give you the right to vote, regardless of how many posts you have.

@TheAbominableDrVibes - my sympathies, I grew up with dogs. These times are the worst. And thank you for your interest in the Beat Battle Rematch despite of this...

...yup, every art form (even cooking :)) lives from breaking rules from time to time. But it always amazes me how much this needs to be done in music- either by going off scales (which is why there are so many) or, another example, by mixing genres. Imagine telling a Heavy Metal guitarist, a Reggae musician and a synthesizer freak some decades ago that elements of their preferred music would some day be aligned in a (short-lived?) genre that would wow a lot of teenagers and young adults and really annoys the rest of us...

What might this genre be? The first thing that came to mind was Infected Mushroom (minus the reggae, and not quite heavy metal, but using electric guitars)..

:D:D:D:D - thought it was clear with the teenies and everyone else comment... :)

I was thinking about Dubstep - on an aesthetic level for me the distorted wobble basslines resemble Heavy Metal riffs a lot and that halftime drum thing is also a something that happens a lot in Metal and in Reggae. And if you have a look at where someone like Skrillex originally comes from, you have another link to Rock music. It's actually not a big thing when you look at it, but it's really interesting to see where these things came from and how they evolved in the process. Another example is that so-called Neuro Funk - at a certain point I was hearing more rock scales than anything that had something to do with Funk. The point is, the creative process is always something that's blending things - even things that don't "belong" together or go well (remember the first crossover metal hiphop things?) - taking elements and putting them into new contexts...

I thought dubstep would just be a "fad" like garage in the late 90's, but it still seems to be going strong...

I hear ya man. I dropped out of Berklee after two semesters, for a few different reasons but, I don't know how much I could've taken of that scene anyway. I think I assumed you have extensive knowledge in theory from something you mentioned in a thread a few weeks ago, suppose I misinterpreted it.
