Here's an iTunes smart playlists alternative!

Traktor has iTunes playlist support but honestly, it's pretty awful.

So I wrote program that integrates with Traktor playlists. It's open source and runs on Java.
It edits Traktor's collection.nml, and gets the tags from it too, so you can make rules (genre, albums, BPM, etc.) and the playlist will get updated with the corresponding tracks. It acts as a launcher too, so Traktor will auto start after the sorting is finished.
(UPDATE: Now supports regex, match case, and a ton of special tags like comment2, catalog, etc.)

Here is the Github project and instructions to download. It's completely free, tiny (15 KB) and cross platform but I have not tested this in Windows. Please report any bugs and I'll fix it asap. Also I'd love some help if you know Java

Notes and things to fix:
- Playlists must have different names
- Scanning ~400 tracks with 8 rules takes 1-2 seconds. I'll try make it faster.

one question, only works if tracks are on collection, right?
Any plan to scan mp3 files directly from an specific folder?

 

good idea, I think it's possible! But it's gonna take some time because I have to find out how to read mp3 tags.

 

Updated with regex, match-case and added lots of new tags. It's also compatible with your old config file.

How so, The start button still doesn't work? Does it not start Traktor.exe or does it not edit collection.nml?

- Add by year
- Add by date of the add in traktor

you can try beatport pro you could sync it with traktor

 

Yes but for me, Beatport Pro isn't a solution because i want my track by "date added" (the new on top) in my playlist and Beaport export as alphabetical in traktor...
