Is there HID support planned for these 2 new babies? I guess since CDj-400 is now fully supported, the new species are also on the list to be supported?

No Pioneer are the enemy, they are dropping support for the CDJ-400 as well

at least you forgot your smiley when writing this.

Why should NI drop support for CDJ400,
they would loose customers to serato/itch or others like VDJ.

Traktor was the leading software regarding support for controllers and DVS.
Serato now comes closer, I think NI will enhance support for this ...

HID support for CDJ-2000 and CDJ-900 will come with the next feature update, which will likely be called 1.3.

Support will cone when these units become affordable by a mere mortal. $1913 for the 900 and $2650 for the 2000... what are they thinking! I hope HID support comes around the time these bad boys stop flying at economic altitudes regular consumers can't reach. Sweet units but pricey. I really doubt they will replace the laptop.

I just want them to use HID with Traktor. Plus now that you can map HID controls (Traktor only) it's like MIDI on steroids.

HERE, HERE! I want to be able to tap the cue button again without timecode f**king it up! Although that is a lot of money to pay to do that...

Seriously though to be able to show up to a club and use either a USB stick or plug Traktor into them without an Audio8 will make them massive IMO. People will continue to use Traktor but now they can rock up and have a CDJ control them in HID mode without the soundcard.

Pioneer has tried to turn a CDJ into a laptop with the introduction of the new CDJ 2000. besides the rediculous price they are totaly missing the point; Mobile DJ's will still arrive with there laptop and probably a nice midi controller as they are easy to carry and cost half two CDJ 2000. whilst clubs may install the new expensive CDJ 2000 toy but for years DJ's will still arrive with a bag full of CD's as the install base of CDJ 2000 amongst clubs will be limited so you still need tov carry both CD's and/or DVD's and/or Digital storred music. Besides; you will need a set of CDJ's 2000 at home to get used to them....

It will be intersting to see what direction this i moving, at moment it looks like Denon 3700/1200 of al de CD players had the best integration with Traktor.

    Pionee has missed a chance.

can someone please clear up some confusion for me as to the what exactly HID and native support means for the pio2000 and 400.

    I understand MIDI as I have a 1d.

    1) no audio8/4 needed? SSL box needed?

    2) Is HID mappable like MIDI? I have read on the forums conflicting information.

    3) No time code in HID?

    4) If the 2000's are WAY out of your price range, would it be fair to assume that they would behave generally the same as cdj400's in HID? As to have the 400s at home and switch to the 2000s in a club with your laptop running traktor in HID mode but just change the CDJ type in preferences.

any help on getting me sorted would be great

If this Quantize feature works without manually setting grids, it is worth the $$

I am on the fence with this technology. I need to look at it more.

Well, they don't even get the cdj400 to work properly. So I wouldn't think of these gears...

After I have seen the toylook SERATO, I'm thinking to switch. Sell this on ebay and be happy again. Everything works like on cds. Without any stupid modifier and THE MOST IMPORTANT for me without a modifier for the pitch fader!
I don't use the sync funktion. Also I don't wanna/can't use two hands for setting the pitch fader.
It's a bit amateur these hid protocol in traktor.
