    hey guys
    im so stumped over this
so far my experience with the audio dj 8 and traktor scratch is horrible and i hate them so far.

i used to use traktor 3 and never had a problem just mixing on my computer when i didn't feel like messin with cd's to construct a set.

however with TP the cpu jumps around and like kills my audio.
its redic. i have no internet turned on
    24 processes.

    my specs are

    windows xp pro sp3
    1.5 gigs ram ddr2
    core2 duo 1.6 intel
and an m-audio sound card ( note it does the same thing when using the audio dj 8)

    i just don't get it.
im very disappointed with tp and tsp

any help would be nice. any questions ill awnser them as to ill be up all night searching for a solution to this problem.

last week tp (+ftp-upload & dvd burning) runs smoothly with 39 processes .... core duo 2.2 & 2gb ram......

    latency settings? key?

    done some latency check ?

    also try a normal system check,maybe sp3 s*cks around

    Hmm, the specs are..

"Windows* XP (SP2, 32 Bit)/Vista (SP1, 32 Bit, 64 Bit), Pentium IV or Athlon 1.4 GHz (SSE1), 1 GB RAM", so you're reasonably close to the line, but should be ok. What sort of hard disk is the tunes coming off? How is it connected? What about you're system disk?

Actually, there's some nice info at:

    http://www.audioforums.com/windows-xp-optimization.php

Not all will be relevant to you, but the stuff about power management, DMA, virtual memory etc is worth a look.

i messed with the latency a bit and it seemed to help a bit but its still jumpy idk its wierd.
im mapping it to the hc-4500 come monday so ill see how it works then.

i just reformatted and it seems to be running at a normal speed and theres not a lot of latency anywhere i checked with that program. thanks so much for replying and trying to help?
    also alnother question

with traktor scratch ( using the timecode cd's )

WHY do you have to wait like 7 seconds before it reads the timecode and syncs to the song?

    for example

    i load the song in
it auto switches to reletive mode for some reason.
    then i hit play
now here is where it ** should ** just play the song but no
it decides to wait like 7 seconds and then i have to cue it from the cd at that time. ( like i ahve to wait till i hear it in y headphones then cue it from there )
then once i get that done there always a little lag no matter what i do so when i hit cue it stops it where it is but dont go back to the begining it goes back to some random point.

ugh i could go on for days about how retarted this program is.
i just want it to work. be simple. and keep true to djing with a controller or vinyl.

    hopefully the hc-4500 helps that.

ASIDE FROM THERE BEING NO SCREEN SUPPORT!

John can you let us know what your Soundcard latency is and also what time stretch mode are (ECO or Hi Qual) and Pitch fader range and Key range (always or other).

I can recommend some simple settings changes that will help us diagnose your problems and some proposed fixes or workarounds for now at least.

Not one to make excuses, but this is the time of year that most people are on vacation...they might be short staffed and don't have adequate expertise in the immediate phone area, yet they can effectively manage emails in a queue while being short staffed.

    This is my thought...

Yeah like most companies people take holidays at New Year.
Im pretty sure that things will be back to normal after the weekend.
Even the clever people at N.I need to rest the grey matter .

Yeah almost certainly support will be on a skeleton staff.. We can use the time to cover a bunch of the obvious and basics. John can then hit support up on Monday armed with gobs of info to try to get to the bottom of this quickly.
