i was testing a bit more now and it seems to be okay...anyway i noticed some strange behaviour.I was using R5.5 as a plugin now(Logic 8.02---256 samples) and it just takes the "1%"that an empty Reaktor Instrument shows in the cpu monitor.Funny thing is:a new/empty song (without Reaktor for sure) in Logic 8 uses arround 14% in the activity monitor (i never noticed that before). So,i`m not sure that reaktor needs 13-16% for the GUI (in standalone). But why needs Logic THAT much while the L8 cpu monitor shows nothing :)
As ew mentioned i also think it`s the speed stepping.I`m still running 10.5.8 so i can`t switch it off.

By the way:i`m sure the unbelievable heat outside is responsible for the running fans everywhere :D

Mine are running the whole day too and it feels like having 40 degrees in my room (probably i have).Usually the fans are not running if i work on a song without a million of plugs. But Mac(books)allways tended to get hot quickly.

The reported CPU load for my workhorse patch is a little higher, but it also seems harder to make the audio actually click, and it looks like the GUI runs substantially smoother.

As long as the audio doesn't click I really don't mind what the reported CPU load is.

My fan stops if I quit Reaktor. Who's guilty ? ;)
