It strikes me odd that when I hover over any particular icon I don't see hints. It would help the workflow if I for instance hover over the quantize button and it I was offered tips on how to use it. It's a basic feature but and important one that allows you to learn the software much easier.

I agree. Mouseover tooltips are a great way to learn the software.

100% agree too. This would make life a lot easier, especially when you're used to other software

    Hi,

Just like in Reaktor 6, can we have an option to enable information hints ("i" icon) when we hover the cursor on anything? I am finding it difficult to pick a few things, and I thought the hints would be really helpful.

I am new to Maschine, so please correct me if I overlooked this.

I hope the request makes sense.

    Thanks!

I see where you're coming from, but maybe if you are not too keen to read the manual, just few video tutorials will get you started but just to go deeper into your idea how would it be like? Overing cursor on Mix parameter would pop up a window and say " this control allows you to mix the dry signal and the processed signal"?

I was surprised not to find it natively on Maschine!

This app has some catching up to do... some zoom buttons in the pattern editor would also be part of that catching up... with the last 20 years of software GUI design.

It has sliders but I wouldn't mind having the usual - + buttons, as well as keyboard shortcuts.
You can do it from the controller too with the Shift+Navigate, pads will zoom.

+1 - The software definitively needs to catch up with modern day features.

Yes the controller could have made the zoom control more visible. When I first tried the Maschine software I was pulling my hair out....I 'll give it another 6 months to see some real improvements before I get out of this ecosystem and just use the hardware as a dumb controller.

Hello, as a new Maschine user I sorely miss tooltips and an info/help panel in the Maschine software UI. Simply hovering over a button or icon and showing a small description of the name of this button/function, and even better a Ableton Live-like info panel with a short description and a deeplink to the relevant online documentation segment would be super helpful.

Example in case: the audio export button in the pattern editor. How can I know what it does? The 4-way arrow in the sample editor, how can I know what it does and how to use it?

    etc.

Tool tips would be so useful! In fact I regard them as a basic feature in complex software. How Ableton has implemented them with the inof panel is just genious, something similar would make the usability so much better. And of course an option to disable them for those who feel they get in the way of their creative flow!

Just today I was wondering what one particular button does, there wasn't any immediate effect that I noticed so it was hard to figure it out. Going over the 700+ page manual everytime you want to check some minor thing isn't a good option.

Granted, once you become a level 100 Maschine Wizard, you have all the info flowing from your brain stem, but in the learning process tooltips would be extremely useful. Or if you have forgotten what something does. I'd argue more people would get into the software if there would be little hints on what is what.

Maschine is honestly one of the most frustrating pieces of music software I've used, yet the immediate nature of the controller/software combo somehow feeds my creativity. A true love/hate relationship! :D

edit. I agree with the zooming controls! Zooming in the piano roll with for instance "ctrl + mouse scroll" would make life easier!
