I used to have the M-Audio Xponent and it had a feature which saved the tracks played history. So basically i would play a 3 hour set and it would automatically make a list of the tracks played and the order i played them in so the very next day i could go to the history tab and it would all be there. It's very helpful because for instance i would play 4 tracks that blended real well and then i'd forget which ones they were or the order i played them in. Is there any setting on Traktor that does this automatically?

This would be awesome, I don't have a great answer for you but I swear there is something like this going on. Once my laptop went into hibernation and it froze traktor... when I rebooted from safe mode I was looking through the system files and I found a history.nml saved in some random place of what I was doing before it crashed. I'll look through the traktor 2 bible if I get time later.

    Traktor does have this function.

In the broswer tree on the left scroll down to where it says archive, expand that folder and in there you will have the history for all your previous sets in their own seperate folders.

No I think he knows about the history playlist.. he is looking for something that automatically saves it and dates it for each session... It's far too easy to forget to save the history to a playlist EVERY time you close out of traktor. I swear I found an folder that had them saved and dated... I'll look into it today.

Thats exactly what I've explained. Under archive it stores all your previous sessions and stores them in individual folders.

Is there a way to rename the session folders in the Archives?

Renaming the sessions folders to gig or set names would be much more helpful for filtering through than "history_20xxyxxmxxd_xxhxx_xxs"

    any help?

the other option is at the end of your set, you can go to play history playlist, right click and save playlist to your desktop, it can save it in a word notepad folder or you can actually take a copy of the songs as mp3s from your hard drive to say a usb stick so you know what you have played and also have a copy of the songs in that order. i use this when i play an indie set, copy to usb stick and then the next day when im playing my roland drums i can drum along to my whole set, or the same as above but save the house set i do and then play percussion over the set

SImply do a search on your machine for one of the file names. WHen it finds the file right mouse click and select 'open containing folder' You will see all the history files listed there. You can then right mouse click any file and select 'rename' Just make sure that the extension remains as a .nml file. You may have to type it in at the end of the file if it does not.

When you go exit and re-enter the folder in traktor the new names will be displayed

Right click on the archived playlist you want, select import to playlists where you can edit the name.

You can then export the playlist and copy the songs by right clicking the playlist you imported and selecting export playlist.
