Now that Waldorf have released the magnificent PPG Wave 3.00, it has been decided to discontinue the Hollow Sun 'Definitive PPG' library as it makes no sense to be in competition with 'the real thing', so to speak.

But before that happens, here's an opportunity to grab it for a measly $1! That's about 64p in real money or roughly €0.75!

And in fairness, HS's PPG lib is quite old now as well but it IS a 'real' PPG Wave 2.2 with all its quirks and sonic foibles and covers most of the characteristic sounds from this classic digital/analogue synth hybrid from sweeping wavetables to glassy and mellow pads, from delicate chimes to razor sharp textures that can slice through butter plus chunky and solid basses, digital vocal pads, analogue leadlines and much more in 50 Kontakt 3.5 programs containing around almost 300MB of multi-sampled data, much of it stereo directly from the PPG's outputs.

    SoundCloud audio demo

This offer is valid until the twelfth day of Christmas on January 5th, 2011.

Grab it while you can HERE!

    Cheers,

    Steve

    ?

It should just open and load.

    Can you be more specific?

    Cheers,

it's basically a matter of putting the files in a folder anywhere you want to keep them. ie. your kontakt library. then use the browser in kontakt to locate them. you may have to locate the samples for kontakt the first time. the samples can be sitting next to the instrument and kontakt may not see them. just manually browse, click on the sample file and choose.

then you ought to save the instrument using the absolute path option, replacing the existing instrument.

I can find the Kontakt program file and the libraries look like they're in the "public shared documents" folder, but even if I move this folder to that location and tell Kontakt to add that library, it says "no library found".

    Windows 7.

Sorry, this is the first time I've added anything to Kontakt besides Steven Slate Drums, which set themselves up perfectly.

I did notice when I manually load the sounds into the Kontakt 4 player they are all tagged as **DEMO**. How do I activate this, and does that make a difference?
    Sorry for being such a n00b. :)

i'm on mac. so it may be different but....

you're trying to load them as a library. only certain libraries (instruments) are set up for this. this is a manually loaded instrument.

use the file tab in kontakt's browser. navigate to the location the files are in. double click on the instrument. if it says it says there are missing files a new browser will open. it will offer several options, choose the browse for missing files option. use the navigation window to locate the samples file. click then choose. that should work.

kontakt's browser has a favorite locations pull down menu. you should read about that in the manual.

i have no idea about the 'demo' issue.

    Ah!

So I assume you are using the free Kontakt Player? There are restrictions with this as detailed on my site.

    Cheers,

OK, so other than the "DEMO" marking, this is how it should look?

Yup! That's EXACTLY how I would expect it to look in the Kontakt Player.

And it will time out after 15 minutes.

Roll on the arrival of your Komplete 7!

    Cheers,

    Steve
